June 6, 2026 – It was dance recital day! This is Olive’s second year in dance (she’s six, just finished kindergarten), and she was in seven dances in the morning session, including their big performance number with all of the big kids. At the spring performance, they do a parent/child dance routine, and it was adorable to see Nick (Mikaela’s husband) dancing with Olive and Eleni. So cute!
June 7, 2026 – A new lamp for the shelf in my dining area. I love it!
June 8, 2026 – Started my week off with a morning workout. This is my apartment gym – pretty snazzy! I’m excited to start using the weights soon. Today, I did a 25-minute workout on the elliptical, although I had to keep slowing myself down when my heart rate went bonkers. Blergh.
June 9, 2026 – Sweet Eloise. This is currently her favorite spot in the morning while she waits for me to sit down and start my workday. I think it’s because of the way the sun hits this spot because she gradually moves to the other side of the window as the morning progresses.
June 10, 2026 – Lila positioned herself like this, as if the corner of my monitor stand was the fluffiest pillow to lay her head. I love this girl!
June 11, 2026 – A lovely afternoon walk! I really need to move these walks to the morning before it’s a billion degrees outside, but there’s something invigorating about taking a walk in 95-degree weather!
June 12, 2026 – A lovely night out with friends! We saw Beetlejuice the Musical, and it was so good. I went in completely blind because I had never seen any of the Beetlejuice movies. (It was definitely not the type of movie allowed when you grew up evangelical!) While I wish I had gotten the disclaimer that it was about a dead mom, I still very much enjoyed myself. The actors were incredible!

Lila cracked me up with her positioning herself that way! I’ve seen Beetlejuice the movie way back when, there’s no dead mom, so that must be part of the musical? (At least, I don’t remember there being a dead mom…I though Geena Davis played the mom?)
OK, it’s been a long time since I saw the movie, I see that Geena Davis was in it, but was definitely not the mom. I barely remember the plot…
The dead mom is just for the musical – apparently, they wanted to make it different than the movie. Or something. I was not expecting to cry from how sad some of the songs were!
The girls dancing with their dad is adorable! They are so cute! But oof, 95 degree temps during a walk is brutal. I wish we could borrow some degrees. After many hot days, it’s been in the 60s while we have been at my parents which is too cold for a summer day by the lake. We got ice cream today and then had to turn the heat on in the car because we were all so cold!!
OMG, turning on the heat in JUNE. I’m at the point in the summer weather where I’m like, “Is the AC even working???” because it takes SO LONG for the car to cool down, gah. I wish we could give you some of our degrees, for sure!
Your apartment gym is NICE! What is the weight situation like- are their dumbbells? I’m really envious- I wish my gym were this empty.
Ha ha, Lila. Yes, that sharp corner looks like a very comfy place for her to rest her head!
Omg Olive is so so cute!
Yes, there’s a whole weight rack! I’m excited to start using the weight portion of the gym at SOME point. It’s nice that it’s mostly empty. There might be 1 or 2 people working out, but nothing crazy.
I love how each photo is basically a vignette! So many lovely things to enjoy and admire!
Thank you, Maya! I try my best. 🙂
Oh, my goodness. Why would you ever pay for a gym membership when that gym is right at your building?! I am green with envy over that.
I know, right? It’s so snazzy and perfect for my needs!
OMG Olive is six? HOWWWWWWWWWWW What a cute photo!
Eloise! What a sweetie! I love when I am home and can see the cats’ daily routines. And Lila! What a silly headrest!
She’s six and if she has clear scans in July, she’ll be fully in remission from cancer. Woop!
I really love early morning walks/runs when the air is still fresh and crisp. Looks like you have some nice walking path in the area!
The walking path in my area is DIVINE. But it definitely gets oppressive to walk outside after 8 a.m., sigh.
