Can you believe we’re less than a week away from Christmas? Time flies when you’re an adult and not waiting on Santa to bring you presents. 🙂 I can’t believe how fast this month has flown by and that it’s nearly time for me to begin my “Year in Review” posts (which kick off a week from today). But one of my favorite annual posts to write around this time of year is my Christmas wishlist. Even though my brother and I are in our thirties, we still send my mom a wishlist because what’s more fun than putting together a list of things you want? Obviously, I’m at the point in my life where I can typically get anything I want (even if that entails saving up for it for a month or two), so it can be harder and harder to put together a list, but I found a few things that I’d love to see under the tree this year!
1) A Miami Dolphins hoodie ($60). I am really craving a warm and cozy hoodie to wear at this time of the year. The one hoodie I have is more form-fitting and has those annoying thumb holes (I think I may be the only person who hates thumb holes!), so I never want to wear it. This one is much more my style and bonus: I’ll get to rep my favorite football team.
2) Clarisonic Mia 2 ($170). I have wanted a Clarisonic for years but they are so damn expensive! Nearly $200 just for a brush to wash my face? That seems fairly ridiculous, but I have heard so many rave reviews about the Clarisonic that I put it on my Christmas list because, let’s face it, that’s the only way I’m ever getting my hands on one of these. I definitely have my own issues with my face – lots of breakouts, redness, and an oily complexion – so I’m interested to see if a Clarisonic will solve some of my facial woes.
3) Harry Potter boxed set ($75). I used to own all seven Harry Potter books, but I gave them to a coworker’s daughter because I never thought I’d reread the series. Turns out I was wrong! I reread the series last year and now I know it’ll be a once-every-few-years thing, so I’d love to own a boxed set.
4) Trivial Pursuit, Classic Edition ($19). I love board games more than anything and I love Trivial Pursuit more than is probably healthy. It’s just such a fun game to play, even if I don’t know the answers to most of the questions, ha. I’ve had all different editions of Trivial Pursuit and I’d love to see this classic edition under the tree for me this year. (And then, of course, force my family to play it with me on Christmas.)
5) Sueded pointy black flats ($20). Black flats are my go-to for work because they go with everything and I hate wearing heels. I tend to need a new pair of flats at least once a year and the pair I have now are super worn out and… well… kinda stinky. This simple design from Old Navy would suit me just fine.
6) Secret Garden coloring book ($13). I’m obsessed with coloring right now, and I probably spend 30-60 minutes a day coloring while listening to a podcast. That’s not even an exaggeration. I’m currently working my way through one of the coloring books I own and I know I’ll need a new one soon, so why not get the classic coloring book that essentially kicked off the adult coloring obsession?
7) Books. Of course, what Christmas wishlist would be complete without books? I gave my family a list of 10 books that I’d love to see underneath the tree this year, including Nasty Women, Beartown, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and The Book of Unknown Americans.
8) Bookish tees. I put this one on my Christmas list because it speaks to my soul so much. I have three bookish tees already and I just want to grow my collection because not only do they allow me to proudly express my love for reading (a love I tried so hard to keep secret for such a long time), but the shirts are usually so comfortable and I’m all about comfort right now.
9) Vera Bradley lunch box ($19-$38). I am always on the market for a new lunch box because I bring my lunch to work on a near-daily basis, so my lunch boxes go through the gauntlet over the year. I love all things Vera Bradley and these lunch boxes are exactly what I’m looking for, especially in a fun pattern like the one above.
What’s on your Christmas wishlist this year?
April
I’ve asked for (and received, bc C and I are terrible usually at waiting until Christmas when something is useful now) a new Kindle Oasis and it’s dreamy. I heart it. I also asked for a Sous Vide cooking wand and some dachshund things, some bookish and Harry Potter shirts,
I actually have that version of TP! I used to collect them, and at one time I had over 30 versions of Trivial Pursuit. I’ve downsized my collection and now have maybe 5-7 versions. I too am terrible at trivia but love it. My problem is that I second guess any answer that I do know, too.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn! One of my book goals for 2018 is to read books I should have read in school and that is definitely going on the list!
Stephany
Ohhh, I am coveting the Kindle Oasis. It looks amazing and I’m glad to hear it lives up to expectations! My Kindle Paperwhite is only a year old, so I can’t justify the expense, wah.
I am in awe that you had THIRTY games of Trivial Pursuit. Holy heck, lady! We need a Trivial Pursuit game night, I think. 🙂
Amber
That lunch box is sooo cute! I don’t think I am going to get around to making a Christmas wish list this year, my dad reads my blog and was like “where is your Christmas list!” ha ha. But I will always take candles and gift cards so that’s what I told him 😉
Stephany
I am ALWAYS happy for candles and gift cards, so I feel you on that! I guess you’ve had your hands full this Christmas season, so I think it’s reasonable as to why you weren’t able to put up your wishlist. 😉
Kate
You’re the second blogger I’ve seen ask for Trivial Pursuit this year!
Stephany
Ha! That is a funny little coincidence. 🙂 I love Trivial Pursuit – probably my favorite board game to play!
Nora
I LOVE My Clairsonic (when I remember to use it). If you get one, you can get brushes that are compatible for much cheaper on Amazon 🙂
The only thing on my wish list this year is a gift card to go to the spa. I need some pampering after everything I have been through!
Stephany
That is good info about Clarisonic brushes! I’m loving mine so far and I can already tell a difference in my skin. Woop!
I hope Santa brought you a spa gift card! You definitely deserve it. 🙂
Susan
I’m also 30 and still make a Christmas list every year. I also love to look at others’ lists. Mine included a key chain, hand lotion and a candle. Self care stuff I guess 🙂
I bought a facial brush off amazon for about $25 and have had it 2 years. It’a Olay brand and works wonderfully. It saved me a lot of money when I was considering a Clarisonic.
Stephany
There’s just something fun about making a Christmas list! Sometimes it’s hard to think of useful things that I’d really like to receive, but I’m getting better at it. 🙂

I wish I would have known you wanted a clairsonic as I got rid of mine during my last move. I found it did not help with my problematic skin, which was too bad as they are not cheap! I think I ended up bringing it to goodwill so who knows what they did with it!
I didn’t make a Christmas wish list this year either as I encouraged my parents to stop giving us gifts and just give gifts to the grandkids and they were on board with this (as were my siblings). I know it sounds grinchy to suggest ending presents but my parents are almost 70 and don’t live close to shopping malls so it’s sooo much work for them to get their holiday shopping done! I am sure my mom will still get us stocking stuffers. Phil’s mom will get us gifts but I hope she doesn’t get us much because we really don’t need anything. I asked for a gift certificate for the spa where I get prenatal massages and also asked for some smartwool socks as my feet are always cold!
I love bookish t’s too. I can’t wait to wear mine again after the pregnancy. Amber got me one from Read Harder and then I bought one for myself at Powell’s in Portland and I wore that for my bach party! You know you are a book dork when you wear a bookish shirt to a bach party. 😉
Stephany
I don’t think it’s grinchy at all to not ask for gifts! Sounds very selfless to me. 🙂 I think it’s sweet of you to take your parents and their needs into consideration. I hope you got a spa gift certificate – if anyone could use a relaxing massage, it’s you! <3

Books are always, always, always on my Christmas list and I always end up buying myself a few for the holiday, too. I can’t help myself.
Stephany
You and me both, sister. I used to not be a book buyer, but now that I have my own place, I really just want bookshelves and bookshelves stuffed with books. It’s becoming a problem. 😉
San
I love taking a peek at other people’s wish lists, so thanks for sharing yours.
I had a Clarisonic for a few years now and all I can say is: I am so glad I took the plunge. I love it. I don’t use it every day, but it’s a seriously good investment!
Also, books are always a good idea!
Stephany
I’m glad that you love your Clarisonic. Santa ended up getting me one for Christmas, hehe, and I’m enjoying using it! I can already tell a difference in my skin, so that’s cool!
