A Weekend in Pictures

This weekend was all about packing, moving, nephew time, and dealing with the news that my ankle is not sprained… it is broken. In two places. As in, I walked down a mountain on a broken ankle, walked all through Six Flags on a broken ankle, and have been walking around for over two weeks on a broken ankle. Yikes! Today, I am getting fitted with an air cast and I have no idea how long I will need it. I’m very bummed because I’m pretty sure this means exercise is completely off the table for weeks. My appointment will shed a lot of light on the break and my recovery and honestly, I am glad to have an answer and reason for why my ankle still looks like there’s a ping-pong ball attached to it.

But onward to my weekend!

Our empty living room. So much possibility! Please notice the gorgeous TV on the wall (came complimentary!) and the fireplace (also complimentary). Living in Florida, fireplaces aren’t actually necessary and I doubt we’ll use it much but I love the way it adds to the room.

This is our screened-in porch. I mean. THIS VIEW. It’s just incredible and I fully plan on investing in a chaise lounge and some porch furniture and taking advantage of this view.

A necessary strawberry-mango margarita on Friday night. Oh, my heavens. This was delish. Friday was a pretty stressful day on so many levels and this hit the spot!

Our sectional was delivered on Saturday afternoon! She’s a beauty and so comfortable. I have been coveting a sectional for the longest time and this one is perfect for what we need.

Well, this is what it’s come to. My face is a mess of breakouts, redness, and oily, oily skin. My skin has never been one of my finer features and I just want to get it under control. I’m hoping Proactiv is the answer and I got ALL of that for just $30, which is normally $100. (Of course, if this kit works well for me, continuing the process won’t be cheap but it will be SO worth it. I  just hope it works!)

This boy. He is my favorite. And he looks SO big in this photo. He came over on Saturday night while my brother and his wife had a date night for my brother’s birthday and slept for about an hour and a half before waking up in a super silly mood. He’ll be 4 next week and I absolutely love the age he’s at now. I mean, when he’s not being a grump.

My mom ran a 10K yesterday and I went to support her. She did amazing for a crazy hilly course and her first words when she saw me were, “Where’s the beer?”

How was your weekend? Have you ever broken a bone?

    Love that “where’s the beer?!”

    Hope your ankle heals quickly!

I broke my arm in middle school but no one believed me because I was waving it around saying it was broken. Felt so vindicated when I finally got my cast.

Sadly, I did not get a cast. I was really looking forward to having a cool walking boot! Although I *am* glad my break isn’t as bad as I thought but anything to make walking easier! Bleh.

Your new apartment looks freaking gorgeous- and that sectional- SO NICE and so comfy looking! I’m so happy for you in this new place. Sometimes it’s this kind of fresh start that you need to just kick start motivation. I know that moving into my basement just really motivated me to get things done in other areas of my life too. As weird/random as that sounds.

I still can’t believe it about your ankle. Unbelievable. Hope it heals quickly, obviously!

Your nephew looks sooooooo big OMG. 4 already! Insane!

Congrats to your mom on that 10K, amazing!

I hope the new place will help my motivation, too! It definitely feels more like MY place since I kind of took control over organizing everything and am helping out more with the moving costs and really making my space my own. And us both having our own space will help us out in the long run, I think!

I *think* that’s the same sectional we have (from the Brick?) and if not it’s VERY similar and it is the MOST COMFORTABLE THING EVER. I adore ours and have taken many wonderful naps on it 🙂

We got this one from American Signature Furniture. We sat on it a bunch of times at the store, ha, and we loved it so much. So fun to have it in our apartment now!

Proactive is the only cleanser that’s ever worked for me. Hope it works for you, too! 🙂

I hope so! Although I’m not sure I can afford the monthly fee so may have to find a cheaper alternative. But if it DOES work, it may be worth it! Nothing I’ve tried works for me long-term and it’s very annoying!

Hope your ankle gets better soon! I broke my arm in fifth grade going down a self-made ramp backwards and there was a twig on there that I didn’t see and I tripped over it (Big Daddy style), it sucked because it was the summer and I couldn’t go swimming but I felt sorta badass with my cast haha

I didn’t get a cast (I was hoping for a walking boot!) since my break is a clean one and doesn’t really require that. Oh well! At least it means it’s healing like it should.

So sorry about the ankle; hope it heals quickly.

LOVE that you have a tv and fireplace complimentary. That’s pretty awesome. And the view is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see/hear how you decorate and how it goes in the future there. =)

Congrats to your mom on the 10k and hope you are settling in ok at the new place!

I’m not sure I even know how to WORK a fireplace! Ha. It’s going to be fun come winter and the holidays, though! I can’t wait!

Aww! I am so sorry about your ankle! 🙁 You poor thing! I have only fractured bones – not broken through. 🙁

The new place looks fab! I love sectionals. So cozy!

Congrats to your mom! She looks great running!
