My birthday is in 11 days, but for the first time, I’m not excited about it. Maybe because it’s on a Sunday. Maybe because I don’t have any plans, aside from a fancy dinner whenever my brother is free. Maybe because I’m turning twenty-three and I’m sorry but twenty-three feels old. Really old. I feel perpetually sixteen. Maybe because this year hasn’t been all that exciting and I feel locked into fear and anxiety.
But I’m going to try to dredge up some birthday spirit because I am a girl who loves birthdays. My birthday, your birthday, my pet’s birthday…it’s always a special day! I’m also super excited about my birthday dinner because I chose The Melting Pot this year, a fondue restaurant that I haven’t been to in years. I’m already craving it!
Onto my wishlist! And since my birthday falls less than a month before Christmas, these are also things that worked their way onto my Christmas wishlist as well.
I could probably add more to my list, such as a car or a job with Shape magazine, but I’m trying to keep it in the reality zone. Somewhat.

I REALLY want a Garmin too! I have a Bondiband head wrap that I like. Helps with the sweat and keeps my ears warm on the chilly runs. I'll have a wish list post coming soon. Well, for Christmas since I already got my birthday presents. Lol.
How exciting! My birthday is in exactly two weeks (December 1st). 🙂 I'll be twenty-two! Twenty-two feels so young to me, though. It might be because I'm married and it seems like no one takes you seriously when you're younger than thirty. (That could be mostly from working with older, male engineers, though.)
I'd love a Garmin! Using Nike+ on my ipod can be a hassle. A trip to Orlando would be nice, too.
I'm probably going to buy a point-and-shoot for my brother for Christmas. He's been asking for a camera, and most have 12megapixels, so they're really great cameras! I'm definitely a fan of Nikon! (I have a Nikon D5000 and a Nikon film camera.)
First off, 23 is so young! I know you don't feel that way, but as someone who is turning 30 soon, 23 sounds pretty darn young and fabulous! 🙂
That's a great wish list. I need to put together a CHristmas list but there really isn't anything that particularly stands out!

lol when i was trolling for topics I thought maybe I can write about what I want for Christmas! But then I chickened out because half my modest readers /lurkers are my IRL friends and I feel like they might be pressured to buy me the stuff.
my wishlist: crockpot (gonna buy myself because of chilli cookoff on the 10th!), trip to boston and nyc (to see friends), trip out of country because I got my passport two years ago and haven't used it! gift certificates to favorite restaurants… 🙂 list goes on.
Can I suggest a camera other than a Nikon? We're on our 3rd Coolpix and I'm beginning to realize that compared to other cameras at the same price point it's just not as good =-( I'll be considering other brands when I make my next camera purchase.
I'm going to be 22 forever…. 😉 That's what I said about 21! Ha!
The ONLY thing on my Christmas wish list this year is a French Press! I want one so bad 🙂
23 is young, I promise. =) I turned 25 and stayed there forever so I can relate though.
Great list of things. Have you thought about making a photo board? I made one with one of my younger cousins once and it was a lot of fun.

Turning 23 does feel a bit weird; I'm not too thrilled about turning 24 in January. But, I'll be excited about my birthday nonetheless.
This is an awesome list. I have a ribbon board – a Tinkerbell one, at that – and even mine doesn't look too dorm-ish. If you get one that looks sophisticated, like the one on your list, I think it would look fab. 🙂

I'm 23 next year. It does sound old doesn't it? The time just seems to fly by once you finish high school. Or is that just me?
That is an awesome wish list! I do hope you become more excited about your birthday though- I hate the idea of getting older sometimes but I can't help but loving a day where I wake up and I know it's a special day for me 🙂

The Melting Pot is delicious! Good choice. I think birthdays post-21 are different. But it's a day to celebrate you! Take advantage.

I'm a photographer with a DSLR, but I LOVE my (purple!) Nikon Coolpix for running around–I think you'd love it too. I picked it because it was idiot proof-ish and durable. Those big cameras get heavy, you know!
My wishlist? I'm a nerd, but I'd love to restock my stationery collection and have some credit to buy some books for my iPad, which I never do because we're library fanatics.
