Feeling… a little anxious about running. It hasn’t been the best running week for me, which makes me feel really nervous about my race at the end of March. I know, I know. I have plenty of time, but I’m really not in 5k shape just yet. And I just want every week to be a roses & butterflies running week! Why can’t it be that way? Meh.
Reading… Yes Please by Amy Poehler. I’m only about 25% in, but I love it so far. I have such a crazy girl crush on Amy, and I think it will only expand the more I read her book.
Writing… for a really fun freelance project. I can’t say much about it, but it’s been a really interesting process so far and a good way to stretch my writing muscles in a totally different way.
Listening to… Taylor Swift’s 1989 and nope, I am not sorry about it. I even bought the album on iTunes, something I have never done, because she took all her music off Spotify, so I had to. Well played, Swifty.
Watching… Parenthood, currently. Last night was the series finale, but I’m still about four episodes behind. I’m not ready for this TV show to end! Why does it have to end? It makes no sense. I’m super bummed. What other show is going to make me sob hard with each episode?
Excited about… taking my seventh cruise in May! Yep – that’s right. My mom and I have booked another cruise. After our first cruise in May of 2011, we promised one another we would try our hardest to take one cruise a year and we have done that! This will mark five years in a row of us taking a cruise in May. This year, we’re taking a 7-day cruise out of Miami. It travels to Half Moon Cay (Carnival’s private island in the Bahamas), St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. For the past two years, we’ve taken short 5-day cruises, so I am stoked for a longer cruise. Only 106 days and counting!
Playing… Trivia Crack. It’s an obsession. And I’m not especially good at it. So it makes me feel like a moron sometimes. But it’s fun! And educational! And I’m learning so much useless trivia!
Buying… new pants because nothing is fitting me anymore! In the best way – I’ve lost 10 lbs since December and it must all be in my waist and hips because my pants are not fitting me right anymore. I splurged on a pair of exercise capris (I tend to budget shop for those, but slapped down $50 on a pair of Nike running capris), as well as a pair of Old Navy skinny jeans. (I was able to go two sizes down in those! Wahoo!)
Thinking about… bangs. I have a hair appointment coming up in the next few weeks and I was scrolling through Pinterest last night and found this cut. I want it and I know I shouldn’t get it because BANGS AND ME ARE NOT A GOOD FIT. But it’s cute! And fun! And someone talk me out of this!
Loving… the #brosbeingbasic Instagram account, researching excursions for my upcoming cruise, when Dutch snuggles against me so perfectly while I’m writing, dark chocolate covered pomegranates, and girl talk.
What are you currently reading, excited about, and loving?
Lisa of Lisa's Yarns
Wow – 10 pounds since Christmas – that is a lot! I bet you are feeling great as a result!
I’m currently reading The Rosie Effect. I’m only 30 pages into it but I am liking it so far. I’m excited about our trip to Santa Barbara in 2 weeks and I’m loving the quiet weekends I’ve had lately.
Becky
Congratulations on the weight loss my friend – that’s awesome! Also, I think you could totally rock some side bangs like that pic!
Let me know what you end up thinking of the Amy Poehler book – the beginning and ending were strong for me but the middle dragged. I’m currently reading Wild but because I’ve been knitting so much I probably haven’t picked it up in a week or so.
I’m getting excited about checking things off our baby list! Registry is done, hospital tour (and registration) is done, birth class is scheduled, we have a pediatrician, and while I don’t love getting shots there’s one more I have to get which is getting taken care of later this morning. I figure there’s so much with labor/delivery I’m going to have to roll with, it’s nice to be able to cross some things off a list for now!

I’m right there with ya on the running anxiety. My treadmill runs have felt so hard these last two weeks and it makes me wonder if I’ll be ready for a half in early April. It doesn’t help that we keep getting pummeled with snow and I can’t run outside (which I prefer SO much). No snow all winter but the week I start my training triggered snow every 3-4 days. Nicely played, mother nature. Also just purchased 1989 on iTunes and also never purchase anything on there! I’m loving half the tracks and feel so-so on the other half. I’m so jealous you’ll be in the Magic Kingdom soon! I wish we could swing tickets in April but $160 for the two of us for one day is a lot. Plus we are going next January so I’ll get my fix then but still. Such a tease. THANK GOODNESS I have something else to look forward to that weekend! 🙂 Way to go on the weight loss, too! That’s impressive in a short amount of time! I’m only down about 3 lbs but I’m trying to stay off the scale so I don’t get discouraged.
I am currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns – I loved The Kite Runner so I hope I love this one just as much. I am SO excited for our Disney date in April – yay yay yay! And I am loving the 21 Day Fix, seriously, I’ve never loved an eating plan/workout program so much. I’m actually excited to do my workouts and I’m feeling stronger every day. Happy weekend, friend!
Nora
Nice job on the weight loss, my friend! That’s awesome. Buying pants in a smaller size is such a great feeling!
And a weekend getaway to Orlando for Valentine’s Day!? That’s genius. I hope you share some pictures and have a BLAST.
I’m currently reading Cinder; it’s pretty interesting so far but I think I figured out what’s going to happen so we’ll see if I’m right!
Excited about: the baby shower in a few weeks. It’s been a lot of planning and hard work but I think it’s going to be great.
Loving: that it is sunny, even if it’s really, really cold. And it’s Friday.

I think side swept bangs would totally work on you! It’s not like blunt bangs or anything. I’m working on growing mine out to be pushed to the side like that. 😉
Also, I’ve been wanting to read Amy Poehler’s book, but it wasn’t on Amazon Unlimited. I’ll have to wait a little until that subscription expires before I go ahead and buy books that aren’t on the service.
And yay for 1989! Ryan got me the album early on, and I haven’t stopped listening to it since.

I LOVE MY BANGS! Just saying. bangs make it way easier to wear a ponytail and still look professional and they also make it easier to go longer without waxing or tweezing your eyebrows because they cover them haha. I’m a big fan of my bangs and have just been getting a thicker and thicker fringe everytime I go back to the hair stylist. I say take the plunge 🙂

Fact: Last night I started telling Kyle how T-Swift trademarked, “This. Sick. Beat.” and Isla immediately starting singing, “My ex-man brought his new girlfriend …” It was hilarious! We’ll say that’s what I’m currently loving 😉
I’m really excited about my ultrasound in 10 days! And I’m currently reading a book I was given from Christmas but I’m having a really hard time getting into it.
I loved my bangs when I first got them, but then I hated them because I had to constantly have the trimmed. Growing them back out was the best decision I made.
Caroline
Ooh love this post! I feel like I have something to say about each point but I will spare you haha 🙂 I LOVE that hair style you linked to, I love how adventurous you are with your hair. I always want to get bangs but chicken out because I know I would hate maintaining them. Alsoo everyone is obsessed with Trivia Crack and I am officially downloading it now. I suck at trivia but oh well!
Gina
So much exciting stuff going on in your life! That’s awesome you booked your cruise in May. I need to start booking accomodations for my trip to Mexico in May, but I’m still uncertain what my job sitch will be in four months, so I’m not sure if getting the time off will be easy or difficult. 😛

Running has been downright non-existent for me. Must get back to it.
I deleted Trivia Crack. I got very into it for several weeks and then … meh. I didn’t log on for two days and then just deleted it. I’m terrible with phone games.
