loving my changing duties at work and how much it is challenging me
reading The Mapmaker’s Children by Sarah McCoy
watching Gilmore Girls, all day, erryday
counting down the days until my short-but-sweet cruise at the beginning of March with my mom, my stepdad, and my roommate (13 days!)
talking singleness with a close friend who is in the same life stage as me and feeling heard and accepted and supported
eating dairy-free this week and having lots of epiphanies
feeling lonely more often and at a loss for how to solve this problem
happy that my credit card is paid off (thanks, uncle sam!)
wanting to revamp my wardrobe with new items that make me feel amazing
tracking my food on My Fitness Pal (and crying about how fast 1,600 calories goes)
hoping to take myself to a Saturday matinee very soon (I’ve… never gone to a movie by myself)
wondering if it’s time to try a paid dating service
struggling with being the single caretaker of an aging dog
sleeping with an assortment of pillows: four regular pillows, a body pillow, and an oversized square pillow
realizing how much I desire a family of my own
What are you currently loving, reading, and happy about?

I’m loving the banana oatmeal muffins I made last week. GF baking can be so frustrating and awful but these turned out great! I’m reading “In the Time of the Butterflies” which is a novel based on the murder of 3 sisters who were part of a political uprising against a terrible dictator in the 1960s in the Dominican Republic. And I’m happy that it’s the weekend and that we get to see my parents!
I hope you’ll share your epiphanies about going dairy free! I am doing Whole30 after Easter and am looking forward to seeing how I feel after eliminating some things, including dairy. And you should totally go to a movie alone – I’ve done that and it’s great, especially when it’s a matinee as it feels like less of a ‘date night’ time.

Your cruise is SO SOON! YAY! (But boo, I’ll miss my gchat buddy.)
Loving: it’s warm outside, like no coat warm. It’s weird, but I’ll take it.
Reading: Sizzling Sixteen (audio book for the commute) and ” A Window Opens” on my Nook. I think A Window Opens will wind up being totally predictable but oh well.
Happy about? taking care of some issues at the office, adjusting my attitude, my HIIT workouts and how well I’m kicking their butt!

I look forward to your thoughts on dairy-free living. I’ve been relatively dairy-free for a couple of years now, and while it was a struggle at first, once my body adjusted, I felt better and better. I can’t say no to cheese and creamy sauces + dressings now and then though!
A cruise, that’s exciting coming up! And nothing is better than paying off credit card debt!
Loving: Cats! I’ve had the pleasure of cuddling with a few furry friends the last couple of weekends.
Reading: The Lake House by Kate Morton. Lush, eloquent, deeply romantic historical adventure. A favourite author never seems to lose her spark!
Happy about: That the past couple of weeks are concluding. They were a downer for me, and I’m hoping this weekend brings about some uplifting moments.

Going to a movie alone is one of the greatest pleasures in life. My fave is either an evening showing after work OR a summer time matinee (air conditioning!) with a kids snack pack (just enough popcorn! fruit snacks!). Or in the winter with hot chocolate and peppermint schapps. THE BEST.

I am excited for your cruise! I know how much you look forward to them!
So awesome that your credit card is paid off. What a great feeling!
I am loving that I don’t have to go the laundromat any more (we bought a washer/dryer -yay!)
I am reading the book for the Postal Bookclub (A Place to Stand).
I am happy about a quiet weekend!

Yay we both have vacations coming up next month!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on going dairy-free.
I’m also in the mood for some new things for my wardrobe. Spring is coming, which might be a good excuse to go shopping. 😉

Being the single caretaker of an aging dog sounds so tough. Your comment about it on my blog broke my heart! That’s something we don’t think about until it happens, you know? But animals get old, too, & we love them so much that we want to do whatever it takes… but, man, it can take a LOT.
I never went the paid online dating route, but I think that if I hadn’t met Mike when I did, I was, like, thisclose to doing it. No shame! You know the guys you meet there will be serious about their search, too, not Tinder jerks looking for a one-night stand or something. Good luck!
I just starting (re)watching Gilmore Girls, too. SO EXCITED ABOUT IT.
