I haven’t done one of these types of posts since October. Most of the time I feel like I don’t have anything coming up that’s interesting enough to talk about. But, nonetheless, since these posts have been popular in the last week or so in the blogosphere, I thought I’d add my own. Enjoy!
Today, I am looking forward to… taking my usual Friday afternoon nap and later on, a book club pizza party!
I always feel like I should be more productive with my Friday afternoons. Maybe do chores, or work on my novel, or take Dutch to a dog park or something. But I look forward to those naps every week! (And so does Dutch. Heh.) I’m also majorly excited to hang out with my friends for pizza, book club chatter, and all other types of girl talk. I look forward to book club every month, and I’m excited to hear everyone’s thoughts on our book pick!
This weekend, I am looking forward to… hanging out with a new friend and going back to church.
My friend and I plan on kicking back and watching Frozen. I’ve never seen it (but I really want to!) and she’s a mega fan, so we made plans to watch it together. (She’s new in town, and we’ve bonded over our love for Vera Bradley, funky eyeglasses, and cute lunch bags, so, it’s a good match, I think!) If I don’t know how to be a cool twenty-something… whaaaat. Ha. Also, church. Yes! I am so pumped to go back to church. I really miss it!
This month, I am looking forward to… my soon-to-be stepdad coming home.
He’s been on the road since early May (he’s a truck driver) and it’s funny, I used to dread the weeks he would be home because things were super awkward between us. But now they are pretty great and he’s awesome company to have around! Plus, I think we’re all heading over to the dog beach while he’s here, which I think he will get a kick out of! (Dutch was rather unimpressed by it – especially the water – but maybe the second time’s the charm?)
This year, I am looking forward to… a Miami road trip and meeting Nora.
In September, two fun things will be happening: my brother and I are driving down to attend a Miami Dolphins football game and Nora will be in Orlando for work. We’re planning to have a fun girl’s day for one of the days she is here. I am stupid, stupid excited!
What are you looking forward to in the coming days, weeks, or months?
Vanessa
Ooh, it’s been forever since I went on a road trip. I should plan one!
I am really looking forward to a show I’m going to tonight. It’s Jazz Fest time in my city and I’ve been looking forward to this particular concert for months!
Jennifer
My husband is taking a work trip to Miami next week, and I beggggged him to take me with him. Too bad flights are stupid expensive. Wahhhh. 😉
Nora
Your weekend sounds lovely. let us know if you become a mega Frozen fan. And hooray for new friends and hanging out =)
You know I can’t wait for September, either! Will be so fun.
Happy Friday!
Caroline
I looooove Frozen : )
Emilie
I saw Frozen only once and while it was good, I didn’t quite understand the hype! There are so many other Disney movies that were better, in my opinion! So exciting having new friends – that is hard when you’re an adult!
I am looking forward to my fourth half marathon this weekend although I don’t feel ready for it. Training went fabulously until my trip. Getting sick when I came home screwed me up and I missed my 11 miler and have not run any distance longer than 5 miles since May 25, sooo… should be interesting. I’d been hoping for a PR but I don’t know if it’s in the cards now.

Oooh enjoy Frozen! I love that movie.
I’m looking forward to the 4th of July. Nothing says summer like hot dogs and fireworks. 🙂

So many nice things to look forward to! I should write a post like this. I’m in a total “I don’t know what the heck to blog about” mood but this might kick start things!

That is awesome that you’ll get to spend a day with Nora! You girls will have a blast! I think you have some great things to look forward to. Sometimes it’s the little thing that are the best, honestly. I have a lot less ‘big’ things to look forward to now that I am not traveling as much but I have found that I appreciate the small things more than ever these days!
Today I am looking forward to Phil’s party and my piano being delivered, tomorrow I am looking forward to my girlfriends coming over to hang my photos, next week I am looking forward to a weekend at the lake, next month I am looking forward to going to Iowa Amber’s wedding with Phil, and this year I am looking forward to hopefully hosting my friend Lori (a blogger friend in Charlotte) for a weekend in September or October!

Lots to look forward to! I have lots of small things to look forward to this summer too. Eric is currently in the process of securing a full-time job and it’s been a stressful couple of weeks as he negotiates offers and we start to plan for the future, but also really exciting!
The biggest thing I’m looking forward to right now is going camping next weekend! I LOVE camping with Eric and find it super relaxing!

I love that you look forward to Friday afternoon naps! I love napping and look forward to catching one on the weekends when I can. I can relate- sometimes it feels like “wasting” a perfectly good day, but it’s also an amazing way to spend the day, especially when you NEED it! <3

Nora came to Jacksonville to visit friends a couple years and I didn’t get to meet her. I think I was sick or something. Wah! Y’all will have so much fun. She seems so sweet. 🙂
I might have to borrow this idea, especially because I’ve been negative lately about having “nothing to look forward to.”
