I think it’s time to do another “Looking Forward” post because we’re in the last quarter of the year (my FAVORITE time of year!), and I have a lot of fun things coming up. Let’s discuss!
This week, I am looking forward to… seeing Gone Girl.
I’ve made plans with a good friend to see the movie, so we’re doing a little dinner-and-movie date on Thursday night. She hasn’t read the book yet, so I’m pretty excited to see how she’ll react to all the crazy plot twists. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews for the movie and I honestly haven’t been so excited to see a movie in a long, long time!
This weekend, I am looking forward to… walking in a 5K breast cancer walk on Saturday morning.
My mom’s work has a team together for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk, and she invited me to join. I can’t wait! I’ve never participated in a breast cancer walk, but I imagine the environment is going to be so empowering and invigorating. I’ve also pledged to raise $100 for the walk, so this is just my teeny tiny plea to visit my page and, if you feel inclined, give a donation. Even $5 gets me closer to my goal!
This month, I am looking forward to… going to a pumpkin carving party!
I’ve never gone to a pumpkin carving party! I’m really looking forward to it, even though I’m sure my pumpkin will look pretty wretched. It should be a really fun night, though!
This year, I am looking forward to… taking a road trip to Savannah!
YES! I booked the hotel on Sunday, and the day after Thanksgiving (also, my birthday!), my mom and I will be hitting the road to Savannah. It’s about a six-hour drive, which won’t be fun (we both hate driving), but we’re looking forward to the adventures that await us. I’ve been trying to make a list of things to do, which definitely includes a trolley tour, a ghost tour, and lots of strolling around this adorable city and taking in the sights. (Any Savannah tips? What things should we put on our itinerary? And, most importantly, where should we eat?!)
What are you looking forward to lately?

Oh fun, that is exciting that you are going to Savannah! You are going to love it there! I don’t have any food recommendations – I am so limited on what I can eat, I never seem to get to eat at the best places in a city but hopefully others have suggestions. I did a walking tour of the city by Savannah Dan and I loved that! But my favorite part of being in Savannah was just walking around. Forsythe park is beautiful and there are so many benches in the parks – it’s a great city to just sit back and take it all in!
This week I am looking forward to having dinner with a friend that I haven’t seen since I first moved back. This month I am looking forward to hosting a pumpkin carving party at Phil’s, this fall I am looking forward to Julia Child Night in November and this year I am looking forward to our Jamaica trip in December!!
Caroline
Savannah will be so fun! I’ve never been there so no recs but can’t wait to hear all about it : )
Nora
Hooray for the trip to Savannah! How fun will that be!?
This week… I’m looking forward to a game night with friends on Saturday.
This month… we are going to see a play (Shakespeare’s a Midsummer’s Night Dream!)
This fall… I’m looking forward to our bathroom being done!
And this year… the trip to San Diego over Christmas with my boys.
Linda
I hear Savannah is just gorgeous!
I’m not looking forward moving or buying new furniture (I got rid of it when I moved in with Alan), but I am looking forward to being moved in and having a shorter commute!

YES for Gone Girl! I am seeing it next week with my book club and I cannot even wait!
Oh man, my pumpkin carvings are horrendous and look like the creative genius of a five year old. I can’t wait to see what mine will look like this year… ha!
Savannah! That is so awesome and I am envious. I love the South!

Savannah is incredible! Hope you love it. All those mossy trees… swoon.
What’d you think of Gone Girl? I have to say, I was let down – mostly because I just REALLY did not like Rosamund Pike or find her believable/compelling. Interested to hear what you think!
Amber
The trip to Savannah sounds great!
Right now I’m mostly looking forward to Christmas break and having 1.5 weeks off work. Haha. The next couple of months are just looking so busy, it will be nice to have some downtime at Christmas!

Okay so I get that we’re already in mid-October, but when you said we’re in the last quarter of the year I was like HOLY CRAP!!!
You have so many fabulous things going on in the next few weeks! I’m looking forward to a quiet week this week (and weekend), and reading. I feel like I took a month or so break and I want to dive back in!
Katelin
Oh I can’t wait to hear what you think of Gone Girl, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And hurray for a pumpkin carving party, I’m headed to one in a few weeks too. Man I do love Fall!
