My family still sends Christmas lists. It’s something we love—spoiling each other with gifts once a year. I know, I know. “Christmas is not about the gifts!” That’s true. But, in my family, we enjoy gift-giving, so it’s a big part of our Christmas. Every year, I like to write a post with some of the things I added to my Christmas list. This is just for fun and to sprinkle in a bit of holiday magic to my blog. There are no affiliate links here, nothing like that!
Air fryer ($72)
This is one of those “the Internet made me do it” purchases. Everyone talks about their air fryers and now I want one! I don’t even know how I would use it—do you fry vegetables in it to make them tastier? Hmm. I guess I have some Googling to do if Santa brings me one of these this year!
World Map canvas print ($72)
I’ve always wanted a large canvas print of the world to hang on my wall. I was sitting in a meeting with a client in late October and she had a beautiful world map print on her wall, and it inspired me to go on the hunt for a similar one to add to my Christmas list. I found this canvas print on Wayfair and it’s perfect.
adidas Stan Smith white shoes ($100)
White tennis shoes seem to be all the rage these days, and I really want a pair for myself. I’d much rather wear tennis shoes than sandals, especially if I’m going to be walking around a lot, and these have gorgeous gold embellishments and give me heart eyes.
Stand mixer ($141)
While I would lose my mind to get a Kitchenaid stand mixer, it’s really hard for me to justify spending over $400 on one of those when there are comparable dupes that are much, much cheaper. This stand mixer from Aucma gets great reviews and comes in a gorgeous teal color!
Peloton ($1,500)
I put this on my Christmas list as a joke. Of course, I am not expecting my family to shell out thousands of dollars for a silly spin bike! I don’t know if I even need a “real” Peloton when my knockoff bike works just fine. (It would be nice to track my output and have a better gauge of my resistance, but that’s not something I necessarily need.) And I’m sure my family is getting tired of my jokes, but I’m committed to the bit now, haha. Also, I’m about 95% positive my brother is going to get me a Peloton ornament as a joke, which I will take in stride. (Get it???)
Weighted blanket ($40)
Weighted blankets are supposed to be a useful tool for anxiety, so I’ve had my eye on them for a while now. As someone who sleeps with a quilt every day of the year (yep, even in the summer—I keep my apartment ice cold, haha), I think I will fall in love!
Bluetooth speaker ($30)
A lot of times, I put things on my Christmas list that I can buy myself but sometimes have a hard time pushing that “purchase” button. The Bluetooth speaker is that. It’s not expensive, but it’s been languishing on my Amazon wish list for months. To the Christmas list it goes! I really want a speaker like this so I can listen to my podcasts no matter where I am in my apartment. Often, I have to bring my phone with me from room to room, even though my apartment isn’t that big. And if my phone is out of juice, then I’m SOL completely! I think a Bluetooth speaker would significantly upgrade my life.
Trunk organizer ($40)
I’ve always wanted one of these trunk organizers and now that I have a functioning trunk (in my old car, the trunk was ridiculously hard to open so I rarely used it), I put one of these organizers on my list to keep things neat and tidy. Who else hates listening to your stuff rolling around in the trunk when you make a sharp turn?
Floor lamp ($55)
I’ve been wanting a new floor lamp, but haven’t made the purchase happen just yet. This one is adjustable, dimmable, and in the exact style I’ve been looking for!
10) Cat ornaments ($17)
How cute are these personalized cat ornaments? I definitely need something like this on my tree!
What’s something on your Christmas list this year?
Nicole MacPherson
Ooooh the Peloton is nice though! I love mine. I was at Costco and a lady in front of me was getting an air fryer, and the Costco lady was talking about how awesome they are. I don’t know if I have space though. I do have a stand mixer and it’s life changing!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie
100% yes to the air fryer. We use ours several times a week and our #1 hits are fish, bacon, tofu, french toast, french fries, and baked potatoes. I’ve never “fried” a veggie in it but you certainly could.

I love my KitchenAid. That is all. I’m intrigued by what is in your trunk that needs organizing. All we have in the back of our car is a blanket/towel, jumper cables, and some supplies in case we get stuck in the winter, all of which we keep in a small Tupperware tote. Do spill the details on what else is in there!
I think you should spring for the ornaments yourself if you don’t get one for Christmas!
For Christmas this year I want a rechargeable hand warm for walking the dog. I have one, but I’d like another so I can have one in each pocket – super useful when the temperatures get really low.

Yeah, I don’t need a Peloton… is what I told myself for a year… but getting one was the best decision of 2021 😛 A Peloton ornament is a good start though.
I love wish lists. We have an air fryer (hand me down from a friend) and I have yet to use it, but I am excited to try what it’s all about.
The standing lamp looks really nice!

My parents keep telling us we need an air fryer. They make all kinds of things in it from vegetables to meat to french fries. I know Skinnytaste.com has air fryer recipes. But we haven’t bought one yet. If we got one, I think we’d need a combo air fryer + toaster oven so it could replace our toaster oven. I don’t have the cupboard space to store one!
Phil’s mom is the only person who buys us gifts. We got my parents to stop 2-3 Christmases ago and us siblings stopped drawing names probably 7-8 years ago? The cousins exchange gifts and my parents get the grandkids gifts, but that’s it for gifts on my side of the family. So I asked Phil’s mom for a hooded sweatshirt to replace the one I’ve worn nearly daily for the last 2 years! Kind of ruins the thrill to specifically ask for something but I will be so happy to have a new one! What I really want for Christmas is something no one can buy – a string of nights with no wake ups by either child! But maybe by the spring that will happen? We are in a tough place with ear infections, teething, viruses, etc. So I’ve accepted that sleep is going to suck for the time being.

Nodded yes to several of the items on your list. I also couldn’t justify the price of a new Kitchenaid stand mixer and learned that Kitchenaid sells refurbished ones, so I got one last year for around $220 – love it.

Aww I hope someone gets you the cat ornaments! And the Peleton one. I totally got your joke 😉 Did you listen to the More You Know episode this week on the Popcast and hear what they said about Peleton and SATC?
I think it’s great you make lists. We do that with Steven’s side of the family and it’s so helpful. That’s like the only things we’re good at communicating on 🙂
My car comes with a build in trunk organizer and I love it. I really hope you get one!!!!
I have rocks and workout clothes on my wishlist 🙂

Everyone who has an air fryer raves about it (same with an Instant Pot). One of my to-do’s for 2021 was to buy an Instant Pot and get familiar with using it. I just…don’t feel like I can handle more big kitchen appliances right now. We have a fairly small kitchen and everything fits comfortably now, but an air fryer and/or Instant Pot would definitely make things crammed. Ditto with a stand mixer. I always said I wanted a KitchenAid, but now I just couldn’t justify the space (let alone the cost!).
But, yet…I feel like I must be missing out on some amazing thing. Does the Airfryer happen to put small children to bed and fold laundry? If so…I’m all in. Haha.

I’m so late reading this that I can go and see what you got! LOL. Time to catch up on blogs. Seriously. I need to just power through my “Favorites” and get to within at least a week! Hm. Maybe I’ll take some time to do that now. After I comment on this.
That’s awesome that your family does lists – I don’t like getting someone something that they may already have, or may not want. Not that your family – who knows you pretty well, I suspect – would do that, but this just makes it so much easier.
I LOVE my air fryer. Love. When one died mid-cooking I nearly cried, then made sure Target had one in stock and ran over to pick it up. Literally the same day. 🙂
The Peloton would be awesome for you – here’s hoping that’s a reality one of these days!
I think I would like a weighted blanket, too. Now I need to know if you got one, so I can pick your brain about it! 🙂
