It’s hard to believe that Christmas is in 4 days. Four days?! How in the world did that happen? Every year, I like to share some of the things that are on my Christmas wishlist. My family abides by the wishlist concept. While I will veer from someone’s wishlist if I find a gift I know they’ll love, I also really love the simplicity of shopping from someone’s wishlist and knowing they’ll have presents they want under the tree. Here’s what’s on my wishlist this year:
1) Fitbit Versa ($150)
I have an older version of a Fitbit, one of the standard ones that only really tracks your steps and heart rate. What I really want is to invest in an Apple Watch, but I’m worried that I’ll spend all the money on one but then grow tired of it after a few weeks (like I do with my Fitbit). So I put this Fitbit on my Christmas wishlist that I could use as a test run. It basically functions as a smartwatch, so it’s almost like having an Apple Watch for a much more affordable price.
2) Pet camera ($35)
My mom has one of these pet cameras and she turns it on when the dogs are alone in the house. My mom has only recently been allowing them to be uncrated when they are home alone, so she wanted to see if they get into any mischief. (Answer: No. Chip sleeps on the top of the couch and Lucy cuddles under a blanket.) I often wonder what my cats get up to when I’m gone, so I put this camera on my wishlist so I could snoop in on my cats whenever I want!
3) Nail polish case ($20)
This year, I really got into painting my own nails and have amassed quite the collection of nail polish! I was keeping all of my nail polish and accessories (buffing blocks, nail clippers, etc) in a small-ish makeup case and I’m quickly running out space! This carrying case looks so beautifully organized, and it holds 30 bottles of nail polish. I currently have 16 bottles, which means I could nearly double my current nail polish collection without running out of space with this case. Yes, please!
4) Three-tier utility cart ($50)
I would love to have one of these carts next to my desk. I bought a sit/stand desk earlier this year, and I love it, but my monitors/laptop/external keyboard take up most of the desk space. This cart would give me a place for storage and I thought it would add a nice little touch to my work area. I like that this one has a tabletop so it could function as an extra workspace!
5) Waterpik cordless water flosser ($70)
Water flossers are all the rage, and I’ve wanted one for a long while now but the good ones are kinda expensive! I put this very adult purchase on my Christmas list because it’s something I need, but can’t ever imagine spending money on myself.
6) A bookish sweatshirt ($20)
How cute is this sweatshirt? I recently realized that I don’t really have any cozy sweatshirts that fit me well, so I added this one to my Christmas list. A cat sleeping on a pile of books? What could be more perfect for me?
7) A wall clock ($45)
I saw this wall clock in Target a few months ago and immediately took a picture of it so I could add it to my Christmas list. I’ve been wanting a wall clock to hang in my dining area, and this one is perfect!
8) A stand mixer ($133)
I have been putting a stand mixer on my Christmas list for a few years now, so we’ll see if Santa delivers! This isn’t one of those fancy KitchenAid mixers (spending $300+ on a stand mixer sounds unreasonable to me), but it’s Hamilton Beach and seems to get lots of great reviews on Amazon.
9) Books
I mean, of course! There are always books on my Christmas list. This year, I’m asking for:
- Atlas of the Heart by Brene Brown
- Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister
- The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones
- The Measure by Nikki Erlick
- Think Again by Adam Grant
- An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena
10) Floating bookshelves ($25)
I fell in love with these floating bookshelves a few years ago. How cute would these look on a wall? And they would give me extra space to store books, which means I would obviously need to buy more books to fill them up. A win/win if I’ve ever heard one.
What’s on your wishlist this year?
Rebecca J Vincent
That nail organizer is really nice! I’m still using a Coboodle from the 90’s for mine – LOL
& I’m watching my dogs from work right now. I love being able to keep my eye on them.
ALL THE BOOK GIFTS!
Stephany
Caboodles have been making a comeback! Target sells them! Ha.
I really hope the pet camera is under the tree for me. I would love to be able to see what my kitties are up to while I’m gone! Just have to figure out the best placement for the camera.
Lisa of Lisa's Yarns
I have only had FitBits, too. I had a FitBit Alta and now I have a FitBit Inspire 2. The FitBits I’ve had have a very slim profile which I like since my wrists are teeny tiny. I have debated getting an Apple Watch but haven’t felt compelled to pull the trigger just yet!
I like seeing what is on others’ wish lists! Ours is very short. We asked for flannel sheets for our bed and I asked for some Galison-brand puzzles. They are my absolute favorite brand of puzzles as the scenes are so whimsical! We get nice socks from my parents and some cash. My MIL is the only person who buys gifts for us which I am a-ok with since you know how I feel about gifts!!!
Stephany
I’ll have to look into those puzzles you mentioned. My mom loves doing puzzles! I kinda wish I had thought to surprise her with a nice puzzle this year, but it slipped my mind. And flannel sheets sound so cozy for those Minnesota winters. 🙂
Suzanne
Ooooh those floating bookshelves are so pretty and useful! You have a fabulous wish list. So many fun and practical ideas! I really hope you get the pet camera so you can report back on the cats’ activities while you are away!
Stephany
Books as decor is my entire aesthetic, haha, so the floating bookshelves are exactly my style!

I NEED THAT NAIL POLISH CASE.
I have a stand mixer and I love it so much! I hope you get one. I have a new Garmin on my wish list, because mine does not hold a charge! Also I would like a Kobo. And slippers.
Stephany
I am definitely buying it for myself if Santa doesn’t bring it this year! I need it, too!
Elisabeth
I love the floating shelves and that sweatshirt. (Honestly, everything looks awesome – what a great wish list).
On my list: a Kobo (I know I’m getting this because I’ve seen it already), a heated vest, Twizzlers, and maybe a second pair of heated socks. Give me warmth, books, and sugar apparently. I know I’ll get a new ornament and set of earrings, too, because those are tradition.
I’m not expecting too many surprises. I do know – because I was home when the order arrived – that I’m also getting a new frying pan which is hilarious because I was going to buy my husband a new frying pan…great minds think alike?!
Stephany
I’m so glad you were able to get a Kobo! I’m excited for you. I love physical books, of course, but sometimes, nothing beats an e-reader. And a heated vest seems like a MUST to survive a Canadian winter!

Our KitchenAid has started acting up and it’s no longer under warranty (you know, because it’s 15 years old), but we can’t find anyplace to take it to fix it, so I might be in the market for a new mixer. It’s good to know that the HB could be a good replacement.
Honestly, I don’t have a lot of things on my wish list this year, but I have a couple of board games and some small kitchen utensils on my wish list in case my mom looks at it!
Stephany
Wow, I didn’t realize KitchenAid mixers had such a long life. 15 years is amazing! I guess when you break it down to price per year, the price of a KitchenAid mixer doesn’t seem SO outrageous!
Jenny
Oh, I would LOVE to have a stand mixer! This one is very reasonably priced. I think the one thing holding me back is where to put it- my kitchen is small and pretty packed with the equipment I already have. Also, with all the cookies I’ve been making this week i keep wishing I had a stand mixer- but during the rest of the year it doesn’t seem as important. I hope you get this and can report on how you like it.
One of my coworkers has a pet camera so she can spy on her cats while she’s gone. It does seem like a really fun thing.
i love that sweatshirt!!!
Stephany
Yes, one of the reasons I haven’t been SO insistent on getting a stand mixer is that I don’t do a ton of baking year-round. It’s usually just during the holidays. I’m also not sure where I would put mine either. Just about every space is taken so I’ll have to do some creative finagling to figure it out, haha.
Kate Kaput
Ooooh, how cool are those floating bookshelves?! And now I’ve gotta know: Did you get anything from the list? Hope so!
Stephany
I did! I got so very spoiled: I got the Fitbit, pet camera, cart, wall clock, and stand mixer!
San
I love looking at wish lists – and I agree, I love to shop from someone’s wishlist (unless I have a super-duper awesome idea on my own) because I know that I’ll give something the person will love.
J
You will need to do a follow up post and tell us whether you received any of the items on your list.
My Christmas list was mostly skin care items, and my husband and daughter spoiled me in that regard. That’s what happens when you are 57 years old!
That is a pretty cool list, though.
