Happy November, friends! And happy NaBloPoMo 2023!
This will be my third year participating in National Blog Posting Month, where I am going to attempt to write every day for the whole month of November. It’s quite the undertaking and it’s become even more so with the amount of bloggers who are participating. (As always, a super big THANK YOU to San for keeping NaBloPoMo alive for so many years.) I want to be a good NaBloPoMo participant and comment on other people’s blog posts, but balancing that with writing my own posts, holding down a full-time job, and trying to enjoy my other hobbies like reading can be cumbersome.
But I’m going to do the best I can! I probably won’t be as diligent at responding to comments on my blog during this month, but I will try to respond to anything that requires a response. That’s just one way I can release some of the pressure that comes with this crazy blog challenge.
What can you expect from the blog this month?
- Week in the Life – I did it last year and I’m doing it again this year! I love doing this!
- School Days – I need to take you guys through my high school years to finish up this blog series.
- Stream of consciousness posts – I don’t want to be super tied to an editorial calendar, so I’ve planned in at least 1-2 “stream of consciousness” posts every week. I’ll just open up a new post on the blog and write until something cohesive comes out.
- My annual birthday post – I love that NaBloPoMo falls during my birthday month. I’ll be 36 this year and it’s been quite the year to document!
I hope you all are ready for 30 blog posts over the next 30 days! It’s going to be a fun time.
Are you doing NaBloPoMo?
Ally Bean
You sound like a woman with a plan. I look forward to reading many of your posts, but won’t be doing NaBloPoMo myself this year. Carry on, write your way through the month.

Happy Birthday Month and happy NaBloPoMo!

I’m setting up boundaries too! I won’t comment on everyone’s post everyday (I DID THIS LAST YEAR!) and I won’t respond to every comment on my blog. And *gasp* I might not post every single day.
Happy NaBloPoMo
Stephany
Oh wow, I am too much of a rule follower not to post every day during NaBloPoMo, but I am going to just take it easy on myself and not worrying about commenting on every single blog post. It’s supposed to be FUN!
NGS
I won’t be able to comment on every post or reply to every comment on my blog, either, but I’ll give my best!

Woo hoo! I don’t have the bandwidth to do NaBloPo this year but I absolutely love the queue of great posts in my feedly this morning. It’s Christmas in November! My goal is to be a better reader and commenter, which I was very bad at last year.
Daria
I’m ready t ready your posts! I am also participating and will write about… whatever. Keeping it fluid.
Suzanne
Woot woot! What a fun way to start out the month! Looking forward to your posts.

Hooray! THis is going to be so much fun. Last year I loved your “week in the life posts!” I think it’s because, if I could slip into an alternate reality where I didn’t have kids, I would want your life (wait- does that sound weird and creepy?) Every time you talk about your day I think “yes, that’s what I want to be doing!”
Oh, and about responding to comments- i lot of comments don’t really NEED a response, so I agree that’s a good way to keep the workload down.
Stephany
That doesn’t sound creepy or weird – it sounds very lovely! <3 I'm glad you enjoyed that series last year!
Kim
Woo hoo! I am excited to see all your posts, especially the stream of consciousness ones. And good call to not respond to everything. I have started doing that lately. Like, I don’t notice if people never respond to me, so why do I worry about responding to everything?!

I am definitely ready to read 30 of your post. I am motivated to read every day and my workload is a bit smaller this year so I actually might have a chance. But then life happens and we’ll see.
I have a rough plan on what things I want to write about. Often enough I am overly ambitious and plan on writing some really deep pieces. Often enough those never make on the blog because I just dont find the time to write them. And then I just open the browser and start typing until there is a post. Those are fun though because you never know what will be published that day.

Sounds like you are very organized! I’m looikng forward to reading what you come up with.
San
I am so excited that you’re joining us again, Stephany! And I love that you are showing up with a plan. I think that’s “half the battle” right there 😉 I completely support your boundaries and it’s absolutely fine not to respond to every comment or comment on every blog post. I am just hoping for a fun month where we make some new friends and celebrate blogging as a community! 🙂

I love that you are giving a preview— this really appeals to my type-A organization loving self

I’m not participating but will be reading and will try to comment as much as I can. I’m already behind on commenting since life has felt a little crazy lately… although I have been saying that for 6+ months! My new hire has taken on a lot of work but he wonders how I functioned before he came along. And I wonder the same!!
Stephany
I’m sorry that things still feel so crazy and busy with your job, even with your direct report taking on more work! Imagine what life would be like without him right now!! (No, don’t do that. That might make you panicky, lol.)
