This week, Kara wrote a post on her “Never Have I Ever”‘s and I loved reading it, so I thought I’d write my own post. (I actually found an old “Never Have I Ever” post I completed way back in November of 2011. It was fun to look back and see what’s changed!) Let’s get this started, shall we?
Never have I ever… flown internationally. And I really haven’t flown a lot domestically. I don’t do a lot of flying, honestly. If I’m going to travel, my favorite way to do that is by cruise ship. And flying internationally terrifies me, so I’m not sure if I’ll ever get around to it. I hope I will. I hope I won’t let my anxiety keep me from seeing other parts of the world. Who knows what the future holds, right?
Never have I ever… gone to a bachelorette party. This is just one of those rites of passage that I’ve never gotten to do! From what I see, I don’t feel like I’m missing out because I think I’d be really uncomfortable in that kind of setting. And don’t even get me started on bachelorette weekends. That sounds so exhausting! God, all of this makes me sound so lame. Let’s move on.
Never have I ever… watched Game of Thrones. My friends tell me it’s an outstanding show, but I just haven’t been inclined to give it a try. I’m really not one for heavy dramas, anyway. Give me a stupid reality TV show or silly sitcom any day!
Never have I ever… gotten a facial. But, man, do I want one! It’s just one of those splurges I’ve never allowed myself, even though my face could use a good scrubbing.
Never have I ever… gotten a spray tan. I don’t understand the purpose, other than aesthetics. But just… why? Why do we think tanned skin is more beautiful than pale skin? Then again, I do spend a ton of money to get my hair colored and I paint my toenails, so who am I to talk? Beauty standards are crazy.
Never have I ever… traveled solo. It’s on my bucket list, though. One day!
Never have I ever… gone to a professional basketball game. I’ve gone to pro football, baseball, and hockey games, but never a basketball game. I like to watch basketball from time to time and I ever cheered for the sport in high school (how’s that for a random fact?!), but since we don’t have a pro team in Tampa, I don’t follow basketball too closely.
Never have I ever… used a moving company. I have moved a lot in my lifetime. I think this upcoming move will be my 16th? Somewhere around there. But in all those moves, I’ve never used a moving company because I’ve always relied on family (and I’ve always moved locally). I’m really glad I can count on my brother to help with my moves because, even though hiring movers would make a move less physically demanding, it’s an expense I don’t have to worry about!
What’s something on your “Never Have I Ever…” list?
Lisa of Lisa's Yarns
You are lucky that you haven’t had to use a moving company and have family that can help! My parents helped with my first couple of moves but after that, I had to hire a moving company as I didn’t feel like I could ask my friends to help me move all my stuff and my parents were a bit too aged to ask them to schlepp my stuff around! Moving companies are awesome but they are also expensive! We didn’t use one for my last move but it was soooo much work so we agreed we’ll hire one next time I move.
I’ve been to lots of bachelorette parties, some have been fun, some have been awkward for me as I’m not a bar scene person. When I get married, I want to have a “girls gone mild” type of bachelor party. I don’t go out to bars now, so why would I on my bach party? So I think I would do something like rent a cabin, make dinner together and watch girly movies or play games or something like that. So you would fit right in at my style of bachelorette party. 😉 And no offense/judgment to others who have done more traditional bach partys – you do you! 🙂
Never have I ever seen any Starwars or Star Trek movies, gone to professional football or basketball games, or ridden in a convertible.
Linda
Girls Gone MILD. Love it! May have to borrow it if I ever get engaged.
Kathleen
I would venture to guess that Game of Thrones isn’t for you. I’ve read the books and seen the first season, and there is a ton of violence and explicit scenes. Not that you can’t handle that, but based on your general preferences you probably wouldn’t want to put the time into it!
I’ve only had one facial, and although it probably was good for my face, it’s not relaxing like manicures or pedicures! They definitely work on your face and it looks worse before it gets better. 🙂
I also probably won’t spend money on a spray tan, but as I get older I can see the appeal. I have spider veins now that really bother me, and I think a tan would help minimize them. Oh well!

I just read your post from last year on moving out. I’m 34 and I’m about to move out of my parents house for the first time ever. I found your post by searching google for moving out anxiety, because I’ve been feeling ridiculously anxious about it. I’ll be on my own in a ground-floor flat and I’m so worried about people being able to see my stuff through the ground floor windows and burglars breaking in to steal everything. I’m also worried about neighbours upstairs and to the sides making lots of noise and keeping me awake at night, or congregating in the communal garden outside my windows and bothering me. I just hope there’s no unsavoury characters living above me or to the sides. How is everything going with you with regards to your new place? Did your fears materialize or, in hindsight, were you worrying unnecessarily?
Kara
Oh, this is a good list!!!
The only international flying I’ve done is to the USA, and that “hardly” counts. (Although I did get flagged for random extra security screening, haha.)
And Bachelorette parties, while fun, are exhausting. Especially when you’re already married and/or have been in a serious relationship. Just call me Mrs. Buzzkill 😉
Linda
The only thing on your list that I haven’t done is gotten a spray tan. Because I TAN JUST FROM WALKING. Ug.
I was dragged to the professional basketball game.
I would also guess GoT isn’t for you too.
Mine:
Never have I ever seen Star Wars, Goonies, been in a hot air balloon, gone to Japan.

I’m debating hopping on the Game of Thrones bandwagon but I have a feeling I would quit after an episode or two. I’m all about reality TV and sitcoms too. That stuff helps me unwind!
Bachelorette parties aren’t really my jam either. I’ve gone to them and they’re okay but I would have rather been at home reading… maybe even for my own. Haha!!!
We are too alike. I love it!
Kate
I have a feeling you would hate Game of Thrones. I love it, but I would say you’re probably better off without. Sitcoms all the way! I used a professional moving company once & it was AMAZING, but I haven’t done it since because I’m poor & determined, & oh God, I remember that one time so fondly & then I get depressed & wake up with super-sore muscle the day after a move & think “Whyyyyyy?!”
Amber
I have done all of these except for the last two – never hired a moving company and never gone to a professional basketball game. The only way we handled our last move was because Eric was not working! If he had been working I think we would have HAD to hire a moving company as even with him not working it was a friggin lot of work to move across the province and from a house we’d lived in for 5 years!! I think if we’d been moving within the same city it would have been OK because we could have done multiple trips but packing 5 years of your life into a uhaul for a big move like that – that was hard!
Erika
Never Have I Ever…what fun friends and I used to have with that game! Regarding your list, I’ve never gotten a facial or been to a professional basketball game either. I like the idea of getting a facial, but not so much the pain that could along with it.
After watching three quarters of the first season of Outlander, I let the possibility of watching Game of Thrones go. Too much attention was paid to violent, explicit scenes which took away from the overall plot.
I’ve been to one bachelorette party, and it was a little too wild for my taste…girls gone mild would be the theme of mine! Unless it’s your own, you’re not missing out on the craze lol.
Something else I’ve never done: been on a cruise. I would love to someday; your adventures on them sound so relaxing.
Nora
I get facials regularly and love them. One of my favorite treats/splurges for myself. It’s worth it for the bonus head/arm/neck massage I get, the time with my facial lady who I adore and for some quiet time in a heated bed 🙂
I’ve also not watch Game of Thrones. Not sure I want to, either.
Loved this list!
Gina
You need to get a facial! It is such a great way to treat yourself and give your face some lovin. I wish I could afford to get them done more than once a year. 😛
