Time I woke up: 6:59 a.m., one minute before my alarm was set to go off. Ha!
First thing I did upon waking: After a quick pee, I got Chip and Lucy out of their cages! I was on dog-sitting duty this weekend (my mom and stepdad arrived back in town yesterday), which meant sleeping over at my mom’s place. It’s always fun to wake up with Chip and Lucy because they’re always so happy to see me!
Today’s weather: Very cold this morning (low 50s, lol) and then it warmed up to 63 in the afternoon. And it was sunny, which was a nice break from the two days of nonstop rain we had this weekend.
Something I spent money on today: Groceries! I took a pit stop at Publix on my way home from dog-sitting to pick up some groceries for the week.
An out-of-the-ordinary thing that happened today: Working in two separate locations! I was hoping to do a lot of work from my mom’s house on my Chromebook but I literally couldn’t remember the passwords for any of my accounts. We have everything stored in LastPass, but I couldn’t get it to download correctly and finally called it quits after a few failed attempts to log into my work email. I hightailed it over to my apartment where I worked for most of the morning, and then I grabbed my work laptop and went back to my mom’s for a few hours in the afternoon to work. It was a weird Monday!
Last thing I read (not on the Internet): Morbidly Yours by Ivy Fairbanks
Last thing I read (on the Internet): This Reddit thread about Taylor Swift and the cease-and-desist letter she sent to the guy tracking her private jet usage. (I love TS, but this is not a great look for her.)
Last text I sent: “No problem. They gave me extra snuggles.” I sent this to my mom!
Last text I received: “Long drive.” It took my mom and stepdad five hours to get home tonight, so they were tired!
Last website I visited: Goodreads, to grab the author of the book I’m reading.
Last show I watched: The Circle. I’m obsessed.
Last podcast I listened to: An older episode of Behind the Bastards. I’m going through the archives!
Last thing I said: “I can hear her… but I can’t see her.” I was in my bedroom and I could plainly hear Lila snoring somewhere, but I didn’t know where it was coming from. (I’m guessing she was under my bed.)
Last thing I ate: An ice cream sandwich!
What I was doing an hour ago: I was talking to my mom on FaceTime!
What I will be doing an hour from now: Most likely, I will be curled up in bed with the cats, either reading or trying to fall asleep to an ASMR video.
Current whereabouts of other members of my household: I’m sitting at my dining room table. Lila and Ellie are playing chase around the apartment. They keep hiding around corners and then popping out when the other cat prowls near them. It’s very cute!
One thing I crossed off my to-do list today: Honestly, I didn’t get much done today, especially work-wise. I find it hard to get into a groove when I’m moving from one location to the next. But I am glad I got my grocery shopping done for the week, so there’s that!

What was your weather like yesterday?
Jenny
Oh, so you did get the rain this weekend! Yes, I’m very happy to see clear skies today.
i like a post that’s pet-heavy! Chip, Lucy, Lila and Ellie all in one day sounds perfect. Not perfect that you couldn’t work from your mom’s though- I would also have a lot of trouble working on someone else’s computer.
Stephany
It was my own computer – but my personal one vs my work one. I thought I could easily work from my personal laptop but I’ve got to figure out the passwords issue in order to do so. I didn’t have the patience to figure it out on Monday!

It’s not easy to change your work location. Right now Hubs and I are “hot desking” in our back room so that one of us is always with the puppy. I work the first half of the day in my office and the second half downstairs with her. I’m much more productive upstairs in my office, but the puppy is much cuter.
Right now the first thing that I do when I get up is to get Doggo out of her crate and outside. I love seeing that little face first thing in the morning.
Stephany
Waking up to a happy doggo is the best way to wake up!
Dealing with a puppy while working from home can be such a challenge! But it sounds like you guys are making it work.

Yesterday was unbelievably sunny here, like too bright, lots of glare, which is unusual for February. It was in the mid-40s during the day. Laughing about your changes in work location. It sounds almost like a sit-com episode.
Stephany Reihing
It truly did feel like a sitcom episode! Argh.
Everyone experiencing mild winters is so crazy!
Suzanne
Any day with this many adorable critters has to be a great day!

It rained on and off this weekend here too! Luckily it was not too bad Saturday and Sunday during the day, but it started pouring Sunday evening and I think we got like 5 inches of rain by Monday morning. Today is raining again but it looks like the rest of the week is sunny (fingers crossed). I have ski plans Thursday and I would rather ski in fresh powder on a sunny day!
Stephany
I hope you had the best ski weather/conditions on Thursday!
You guys have really been getting hit with so much rain. It’s crazy!

It has been GLORIOUS here. GLORIOUS. Sunny and warm. I’m talking upper 40s/low 50s, which is insane for February. I will take it!!!
I think Taylor Swift needs to just step out of the public eye for a while. I know it’s not going to happen with this new album or whatever, but I think the TS fatigue is real.
Stephany
Honestly, I wasn’t too excited about TS’s new album. I also think she needs to TAKE A BREAK. I need her to slow down and get out of the public eye for about a year or so, and then maybe we’ll be ready for a new album. I don’t know how she has the stamina!

These are such fun posts, I love the little peeks into your life!
The weather is lovely here. It’s around 9 Celsius (idk, I guess in the 40s for you) and no wind. All the snow is melting. It feels very spring-ish which is strange for me because in Calgary February (and March, and kind of April) is firmly a winter month!
Stephany
Having a spring-like February must feel so odd to you after so many Calgary winters! Our weather has been mild for February (and maybe even too hot some days?!) so I am not excited about summer, lol.

Dogs are the BEST at being so happy to see you, I love that so much about them. I haven’t lived with a cat since I moved out of my mom’s house when I was 21. My husband is VERY allergic. I loved the cats, though, they’re so sweet and cuddly (on their terms).
Stephany
My cats are very sweet to me when I wake up. I don’t have cats who are angrily begging for food, haha. They jump on the bed and snuggle with me, which is nice. Dogs are a lot more energetic in their love!

I hate it when the technique is not complying to my plans.
It is so frustrating yand you feel so busy and then you can’t cross of anything from your to-do list.
Stephany
It is so frustrating to have a busy day where it feels like nothing is getting accomplished. But I’m doing stuff! It just doesn’t feel like I am. Sigh.
Daria
Love peeks into other people’s lives, thank you. We all just go through the motions, sometimes mindfully, sometimes not. But we all are souls that are having this human experience. Forgot where I heard that. The puppy is so cute.

What a fun post and cool insight into your day!
I’d like to do a post like this myself.
Lisa’s Yarns
I am very behind on blogs since I was traveling this week. But yesterday our weather was in the 30s I think? I was only outside to do daycare drop off/pick up and when going to/from a recognition event at Paul’s school. It’s been so mild here this winter. It might be 60 next week!!
Pet sitting seems like a win win for you and your mom. They get away and you get time with those fun doggies!!
San
Oh, I can imagine that changing location makes one less productive, but we all have these days. I like the flexibility of working from wherever 😉
Anne
Love these posts! And love those dogs.
I hate days when you’re working but moving from place to place – it’s so disruptive! I love working from home, don’t get me wrong, but it’s when I can work at home in the morning and then have to go in for meetings or whatever that it throws me off. I know, whine whine whine. 😉
I hope things settled down for you later in the week.
Oh, and also! Do the girls take a while to warm up to you when you come back from spending time with Chip and Lucy? Or do they forgive you pretty much right away? 🙂
Stephany
Ellie forgives me right away but Lila takes a few hours to forgive me, haha. She’ll hide from me until she finally deems it long enough to punish me for leaving her. 😉
