Snapshot of My Day: Wednesday, November 20

Time I woke up: 7:30 a.m.

First thing I did upon waking: After feeding the girls and getting dressed, I went downstairs to my car. You see, last night, I discovered my wallet was missing. It has my driver’s license, debit card, credit card, Target Circle card, insurance cards, and FSA card. (No cash, thankfully!) I did one last sweep of my car to make sure it wasn’t stuck in a random spot, but no dice.

Today’s weather: Warm but less humid than usual, which is a nice reprieve. The high was 79 and it was very gloomy due to the hurricane that THANKFULLY passed way, way west of us.

Something I spent money on today: $54 to replace and renew my driver’s license.

An out-of-the-ordinary thing that happened today: Mostly, dealing with the craziness of losing my wallet! I guess 2024 is the year of losing things (first my keys and now my wallet). I have no idea where it went—thankfully, my debit/credit card was never used (which makes me wonder if I’ll just find the wallet in a random spot in a few days). But I wasn’t going to wait around to maybe find the wallet. I went ahead and canceled my cards and went to the bank to get new debit/credit cards. I was also able to snag an afternoon appointment at the DMV to get a new driver’s license. I’m leaving on a cruise in less than two weeks and there’s a holiday in the middle of all of that, so I didn’t want to wait around for things to be mailed to me. Next up: replacing my insurance cards, FSA card, and Target Circle card.

Last thing I read (not on the Internet): Our Woman in Moscow by Beatriz Williams.

Last thing I read (on the Internet): The Reddit thread about the show I’m currently watching (The Summit) to make sure everyone else was as frustrated by the people on the show as I am.

Last text I sent: “I hope they fall off the mountain.” I sent this to my mom about The Summit.

Last text I received: “For reals.” My mom’s reply, lol.

Last website I visited: My blog to grab the prompts for this post.

Last show I watched: The Summit, ugh.

Last podcast I listened to: Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet, one of my fave podcasts!

Last thing I said: “Lila, I need you to stop walking all over my laptop.” She’s cute, but she can be a menace.

Last thing I ate: Ice cream!

What I was doing an hour ago: I was watching Survivor and coloring.

What I will be doing an hour from now: Probably tidying up my apartment. It’s a bit of the mess from the wallet search + procuring the appropriate documents to get my driver’s license renewed.

Current whereabouts of other members of my household: Lila is snoozing on the table next to me and Eloise is snoozing on the ottoman under my desk.

One thing I crossed off my to-do list today: Did I get anything done today? Not anything work-related but I did make it to my Wednesday evening HIIT class! I felt like I struggled so much during this workout but I got it done.

I’m so sorry about your wallet! That’s so frustrating. It probably will turn up somewhere random, but of course you can’t wait for that. Good for you for starting on those tasks.

Oh, no!! I hope for your sake that you find your wallet in some random place many weeks from now. Not tomorrow because that would be super frustrating and not like five years from now because that would be too confusing, but it would be nice to know what happened to it, right?

I took yesterday off because I wanted to have a fun day all to myself and I ended up running errands and it was a bit of a letdown. Oh, well. Next week is a holiday week!

Oh how frustrating to lose your wallet! But how exciting that you have a cruise coming up! It makes me happy to know you had ice cream and were coloring!

Oh, horror, I’d go into panic mode at the loss of my wallet. All the cancelling you have to do, all the phone calls and then, like you, getting everything replaced. Definitely a great reason to eat ice cream.

Oh nooo. not cool loosing a wallet. I am not sure I would want to hope it shows up somewhere now that you went through the trouble of canceling anything.

Ug, that sucks about your wallet. I am sure it is somewhere safe, but it is such a pain to have to renew and cancel everything! My friend used to lose her ATM on the regular and as soon as she would cancel it, she would find it in her car or something, along side the drivers seat. Classic.

Stephany. This is the worst. Ugh. What a hassle. I have never lost my wallet, but my mom’s was stolen out of a car once and that was a nightmare.
My husband travels a lot for work and it is CRITICAL he not lose his wallet – he has one with an AirTag holder in it. That way he can find his wallet if he ever loses it! A very handy solution to a potential problem for him. And we both have AirTags on our car keys!

The day after this happened, I finally purchased a pair of Tiles for my wallet and keys. (A bit cheaper than AirTags.) It has been the Year of Losing Things for me!

Ugh, what a hassle. But, kudos for dealing with everything so promptly. Well, I guess you had to. You’ll be needing that drivers license. The fact that no one used your bank cards makes me think you’ll find your wallet eventually in a really weird place.
I’m glad that hurricane passed us by! When I heard there was ANOTHER one out there, I just laughed. Yes, November 2024- worst month ever.
I’m going to check out that podcast. You got me into Girl Next Door, so I trust your recommendations!

Oh no! How frustrating to lose your wallet! I hope it shows up. It’s so much work to replace all the cards and such. I have so many different cards in my wallet, I would have trouble even remembering what all was in there! Yikes.

At least it was my minimalist wallet that only has spots for 8 cards! And no money! I would be really annoyed if I lost a bunch of cash, too.
