It’s time for my quarterly Stitch Fix post! I was really happy with this Fix, even though I only kept 3/5 items. This time around, I bumped down my sizes by one and I thought most everything fit really well. The shirts were a little on the small side, but I think that may have to do with my stylist choosing petite tops. Petite sizing is a must for me in dresses and pants, but not so much in shirts. So I hope that by switching to regular sizing in tops, my stylist will choose shirts that fit me much better. I’m also considering adding some beautiful sorority tops and tunics to my wardrobe.
For now, let’s take a look at everything that was in my Fix this month.
Ribbed Knit Jumpsuit ($58)
I was incredibly excited when I saw this jumpsuit. I’ve never owned a jumpsuit, mainly because finding one that fits me right is hard for someone who is fat and short. This jumpsuit fit perfectly! It was the perfect length and didn’t pull weird in any way. It was sooo comfortable, too. Even still, I was torn on whether or not to keep it. Would I really wear this? (I’m usually a jeans-and-tee kinda gal.) And we’re firmly entering summer season here in Florida so wearing long pants is growing more and more uncomfortable. I decided to wear it around for a bit to see how I felt about it, and gradually, I discovered that the waist was quite heavy and sat awkwardly on my stomach. In the end, I decided to return it.
Brushed Knit Dress ($48)
I asked for a fun dress in this Fix, and I was thrilled with the piece my stylist selected. It’s lightweight and I love the flirty skirt. I felt really good in it. It’s a little “booby,” which is what I call anything that has a low neckline and shows off a bit too much of the girls, but I’d probably wear a lightweight jacket/cardigan over it if I were to wear it out somewhere. This was a very easy keep! However, I’m planning to buy red dresses for HOCO online that I’ll be wearing in our next homecoming.
Khaki Cargo Shorts ($78)
I loved these shorts so much! I only have two pairs of shorts right now and one of those pairs is quickly developing holes. So I need more shorts! I was really excited to see these in my Fix and even more excited when I put them on. They fit perfectly and feel great. While they are way more than I would ever spend on a pair of shorts, I know I will get a ton of use out of them. Keep, keep, keep!
Knot Front Knit Tee ($34)
I wasn’t sure about this shirt before I tried it on, but once I did, I was in love. It’s so comfortable and fits great. The little knot at the front is a fun detail. And I love the scoop neckline. This one was a very easy keep for me.
Ruffle Back Knit Tank ($48)
I was pretty sure this shirt wasn’t going to fit me and it didn’t. I think the shirt is a smidge too small for me, but I also think it’s supposed to be a tighter fit with the sides hitting right above the hips. I prefer my shirts to have a looser feel and hit me a little below my hips. I didn’t even have to think about this one—an easy return.
While I didn’t keep everything in my Fix, the pieces I did keep are going to be lasting additions to my wardrobe, and that’s all I can ask for! In my next Fix, I asked for another sundress, maybe a romper, and another pair of shorts. It should come right before my trip to Niagara Falls, so hopefully I get a few pieces to take with me!

Cute finds! I love those shorts & that knotted too – a perfect summer outfit.
& that dress is cute too. “Booby” – I know exactly what you are saying just by that word. I hate lower cut things.
Stephany
I feel so uncomfortable when my boobs are just way too noticeable in a top, lol. It will definitely need a cardigan.
NGS
That dress is absolutely perfect on you. It looks so good.
I was a bit surprised that you didn’t like that last shirt – I thought it was simply adorable on you. I guess maybe if I saw it in person, I could see some of the issues with fit, but I thought it looked great in the photos.
I have so many issues with v-neck shirts showing too much cleavage. I spend way too much time trying to pair camisoles with shirts because I’m uncomfortable with the amount of skin that’s showing.
Stephany
It’s so uncomfortable when a dress or shirt is too low cut! I am not here to show all the goods. Cardigans FTW, I guess!
The last shirt just didn’t feel comfortable on me. I think I would have spent so much time trying to pull it down and feeling weird if I had to lift my arms over my head, which would make the shirt lift up and show my belly. I needed it to be just a smidge bigger. It was *almost* perfect!

3 out of 5 is still pretty darn good. I’m glad you got some pieces that will be workhorses for your wardrobe. My favorite is the dress which will be easy to pair with a cardigan or jean jacket. The skirt on it is particularly cute!
Now that I’m back to wearing ‘pants with buttons’ I am making an effort to keep track of what I am wearing so I can figure out what I need to get rid of in my closet and what I need more of. I’ve already re-worn a top even though I’ve only been in the office 4 days. So I think I am going to find I need more tops/sweaters but we’ll see. Soonish we’ll be in a new season and I’ll hopefully be able to wear some lighter weight tops, but I have also found that I am FREEZING at work. I have a space heater in my basement office so I am used to being nice and toasty!
Stephany
Oh gosh, I forgot how cold it can be in an office! I remember having to dress like it was winter so I wouldn’t be too cold in the office even when it was 100 degrees outside. No fun at all!
Nicole MacPherson
I think all of these look great on you, Stephany, but especially that dress!!! Love it! Va-va-va voom!
I have never had a jumpsuit because my worry is…I don’t want to get naked to go to the bathroom. It feels tricky! But maybe it would be something you’d get used to. I think yours looks really cute on you, but I understand why you’d want to forgo the pants in the hot weather.
Stephany
Why, thank you! *fans self*
I didn’t even consider the bathroom conundrum with a jumpsuit! You make a very good point!
Jenny
I have to agree with NGS and say I loved that last tank top. But you’re the one who has to wear it, and it obviously wasn’t comfortable. I also loved all the clothes you kept. I’m laughing at Nicole’s objection to a jumpsuit- definitely something to think about.
This was fun! I feel like we all came shopping with you.
Stephany
It’s so interesting how multiple people pointed out that they liked that last shirt! I thought for sure it looked wayyy too small on me. Maybe it just photographed well? Haha. I just didn’t feel good in it, and that’s the most important thing, right? It was the perfect lightweight top for Florida, though, so I’m bummed it didn’t work out!
Kate BK
Cute additions! I’m getting my next Fix soon & think I may do an unboxing like this, too. I finally have better lighting near my full-time mirror!
Stephany
You should do an unboxing on your blog! It’s really fun. 🙂
Kim
Ooo I love the stuff you kept! Bobby! LOL
I was going to ask if you were going to ask for another pair of shorts! I’d be living in them if I lived there! Is that what you wear when you work from home in the summer?
Too bad about the jumpsuit but that totally makes sense. And I bet it’s a pita to take off to go to the bathroom LOL.
Stephany
Yes, lots of shorts in the summertime! I try to push up my AC during the daytime (the most I can handle is 75 before it starts getting too stuffy) so I live in shorts and tanks. Mostly terrycloth shorts, though! I need a forgiving waistband. 🙂
Elisabeth
That dress is SO cute. It looks smashing on you.
I also really want to find a jumpsuit – it feels so easy to have a top and bottom in one piece (one less decision), but I’ve never managed to find one that fits right. Maybe this summer will be the year? Granted, considering how cold the weather still is here in my part of Canada, maybe I’ll just go from winter clothing right into more winter clothing and just skip the summer weather? I kid…but seriously, when will this winter end?
Stephany
I hope that seeing me in all my summertime clothes wasn’t too triggering as you guys work through your endless winter! I feel grateful that we’re having really nice weather right now, but that just means the hot and humid days of 100+ degree days are hurtling closer and closer.
Anne
Just echoing the “WOW, that dress is awesome on you” comments. Definitely a cardigan dress, though. Those types of outfits are completely out for me so I do love seeing other people embrace them. 🙂
The shorts and top are fantastic, too. Fingers crossed that changing to regular shirts will help with the sizing issues. I struggle – petites often don’t work for me (too short in the torso, just a bit too short in the arms) but the regular options always have arms that are way too long, so I wind up rolling up all of my sleeves. You don’t have this problem in FL, though, where you can wear short sleeves a lot of the time! (Also not an option for me… sigh…)
Love that you share these – so much fun!
Stephany
I struggle a lot with long-sleeved tops, too! I always have to push up the sleeves because they’re too long on my short little arms, sigh. I’m glad I only have to worry about that for a few months!
San
Cute stuff. I love the dress, flowery shirt and khakis on you – although I’d personally probably prefer them in a different color.
