The high of my week was my Galentine’s date with my friend Bri. I wasn’t really upset on Valentine’s Day (I was secretly calling it “Independence Day!” Ha.) But it was still nice to get out of the house and do something fun. And I’m glad we opted for a girl’s night in because I know it was craaaaazy at the restaurants and bars. It was the perfect night, and I am so thankful for my friendship with Bri. She knows how to make a girl feel good!
The low of my week was dealing with some blog domain issues. I think I have it all sorted out (well, fingers crossed!), but I can’t sign into Google Admin to make sure my payment method is set up correctly. Luckily, I was able to bypass Google Admin and find out what I used when renewing my blog domain in the past (good thing I did, because my payment methods were expired!), so I guess I’ll find out if all is well next Tuesday when my domain is set to renew.
I’m currently reading Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. (I’m stealing Amber’s idea for replacing “favorite post I read” with what I’m reading. I like this option much more!) I’m about 60% of the way through it and it’s good, but very easy to put down. I do like Sedaris’ writing style, though!
A podcast episode I enjoyed was Schrodinger’s Mockingbird by Book Riot. The hosts of the Book Riot podcast devoted an entire episode to talking about the news of Harper Lee (author of one of my favorite novels To Kill a Mockingbird) releasing a new book. I really liked hearing the discussions between the hosts. (Though I don’t think I am as giddy about them about the new book. I look forward to reading it, but I don’t think it will be as major an event as they think, nor will I drop everything I’m doing the day it’s released to read it.)
The best money I spent was $5 for Taco Tuesday! Two gals at work decided to throw a fun “Taco Tuesday” party for everyone at work. All we had to do was contribute $5 for the ingredients, and the husband of one of the gals (who is a chef!) made a delicious spread for us. (Best part was having leftovers on Wednesday! Oh yeah!)
My plans this weekend include going to the zoo, working on a freelancing assignment, and decluttering my screened-in patio. It should be a rather low-key weekend, but I am super excited to visit the zoo. I haven’t been since I was a kid and Saturday looks like it will be a gorgeous day (sunny! high of 72! sorry to brag!), so my mom and I will hopefully have a fun time exploring.
What was the highlight of your week? Any fun weekend plans?

I enjoy David Sedaris, but I can see how it would be easy to put down, especially since it is in short story form. It’s too easy to take a break between stories and it just doesn’t maintain the same flow as a regular novel.
I just finished Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, and although I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as Eleanor and Park, it was a fun and easy read which I finished quickly. Actually Feb is shaping up to be one of my bigger reading months!

Oooh the zoo! It’s definitely too cold to do that here now, but I LOVE going to the zoo! The one in D.C. can be a pain to get to but it’s free so it always seems worth it! And $5 Taco Tuesday? YUM!
The highlight of my week was my baby shower and all the crazy movement Lemon’s been doing. (One night I told Ben I thought he must be vogue-ing a la Madonna because there was movement everywhere all at once!) I also (finally) finished Wild this week which was a slow read for me because I’ve been so tired but a really great book!

I have to run 9 miles this weekend which I am dreading because it’s still so cold out and the roads are still narrow/icy due to the amount of snow we have. I need to get out on the road though – after this week I only have a 10, 11 and 12 miler left for long runs before my (considerably hilly) half and I’m nervous that all my running has been on the treadmill. I do have 3- six mile runs mixed in between my long runs so I could just hold off a little longer but I’m neurotic and this plan has worked well for me for all my half marathons so far. I hope the blog issues are all sorted out – I definitely defer to my brother on all that. Have a great time at the zoo this weekend and say hi to the tigers for me – my favorite! 🙂

Taco Tuesday sounds AWESOME. YUM. (And yes, I’m hungry even though it’s 9am. I blame that on the tough workout I did this morning.)
Plans this weekend? Everything is uncertain right now because we are expecting more ice/snow so everyone is a little on edge. I think we have dinner tonight with my dad, and then during the Oscars on Sunday (since I can’t watch them, STILL) we are going to see Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Ridiculous but I’m looking forward to it 🙂

Taco Tuesday – yum! I just found out there is a new taco place just a couple of block from my work so I will be going there soon!
The high of my week has probably been the awesome weather we’ve been having. It’s cold and crisp in the mornings but we’ve been getting this AMAZING sunshine all day. Normally our winters are very grey and gloomy so I’ve been loving the sunshine this winter.

Taco Tuesday sounds like an awesome idea! I am all about anything involving tacos. 🙂
The high of my week was my time in CA! It was so great to be outside so much and spend so much time with Phil as our weekends tend to be busy/booked so we don’t usually spend entire days together. We have a pretty quiet weekend on deck. Yesterday we stayed in, made dinner and watched a movie. I ran with my club this am and had brunch with some girlfriends (which was so much fun) and I am video chatting with Amber this afternoon. That’s kind of about it for plans which is good because I haven’t done laundry or done a proper grocery shopping trip in like 2 weeks!

Ugh, I hate blog issues… I hope it’s all taken care of. Also, I love tacos! 🙂
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

I’m working on decluttering my patio, too! I’m currently watching my husband go through SEVEN nostalgia boxes. LOL
As for weekend plans, I ran 8 miles this morning and am going out to a steak dinner tonight. Probably gonna eat back all the calories I burned. 😉

Oh my gosh, that Taco Tuesday party sounds awesome.

Me Speak Pretty One Day was my first Sedaris many many years ago! Loved it. I stalked your photos of Valentine’s Day and it made me happy. 🙂
