morning // I wake up naturally around 9:00, which feels so good after many early morning wake-ups in a row. I take Dutch on his walk, and then my mom and I go to our favorite park to run. It’s a dreary day, but in the mid-60s and it feels really nice outside! Then, we come home, I drink a breakfast shake while snuggling with Dutch on the couch, and then it’s time to get ready – I have a fun birthday lunch planned! I shower, clean up my room, and then get ready for the day while listening to an episode of The Lively Show.
afternoon // I meet up with a few girlfriends for a pre-birthday celebration at BJ’s Brewhouse. Our lunch is yummy, but we are all most looking forward to dessert – PIZOOKIES! Best. Dessert. Ever. And mine comes with a candle! My friends sing happy birthday to me and it is just so special. 🙂 I love these girls! After a fun lunch, I get gas, stop at the library to drop off books and pick up requests that came in, and then pick my mom up for an afternoon of shopping! We are on the hunt for dresses for our work Christmas parties! We start at JC Penney, and both of us wind up finding dresses within 20 minutes. Yay! Then, we head to Old Navy because we both need some winter clothes (especially with our upcoming trip to Savannah, where it’s going to be a bit chilly!) We have success, and I buy my first puffy vest. (I’m still not sure how these help keep you warm (what about your arms?!), but I’m taking a gamble because I look so cute in it. Heh.)
night // After a fun outing at the mall, my mom and I spend some quality time at our favorite place – Target! I buy a scarf, a knit headband, and a clutch for my Christmas party. Then, finally, we come home, take Dutch on a walk, and I take a super relaxing bubble bath. Ahh! So necessary. My mom and I have a low-key Saturday night in: leftover pizza for dinner, blogging (for me), and watching some TV (MasterChef Junior, Scorpion, and Jimmy Fallon). I’m in bed reading by 10pm, which is just how I like it!
What’s the last piece of cold weather clothing or accessory you bought? And tell me – do puffy vests keep you warm?! This Florida girl’s gotta know!

I always layer my vest with either a long sleeve shirt (if it’s not too cold out), or a heavier sweater. They definitely help you keep warm when it’s cold, but not cold enough to justify a winter jacket.
I can’t remember the cold weather item I bought, honestly. Target had some cool tech-mittens for $3.50, but I bought a pair for a friend instead of myself. I may just have to go back …

The last cold weather piece of clothing I bought is the warm down puffy jacket I bought! I am glad I got it when I did as winter arrived especially early this year. I don’t own any vests but I have friends that swear by them – I think just keeping the trunk of your body warm can really help if you are in chilly temps.

Sounds like an amazing Saturday!
The last cold-weather clothing I bought was a couple sweaters from The Limited. I’m waiting for Black Friday sales to buy more. 😉

I only wear puffy vests when I have a long sleeved shirt + scarf on to go with it. It helps keep me a little bit warm, but not as warm as a good sweater.
Also, what in the world is a pizookie? A pizza cookie or something? or a pie cookie? I’m intrigued!

Basically vests work by keeping your vital organs warm. When your cold, your blood starts to pool closer to your vital organs, leaving your extremities cold. But with a vest, that doesn’t happen, so your extremities are kept warmer with the circulating blood. Obviously your arms and legs can still be cold at a certain temperature, but the idea is that you’d feel warmer than if you weren’t wearing anything at all.
We sell a lot of vests at the running store because it also allows for greater range of motion in the arms while keeping you warm.

I LOVE that green dress on you! I hope you bought it!!

I am so jealous of your life sometimes! Haha. I do love my life but just rarely have any time to myself. It’s been fun to get a glimpse of your everyday and live vicariously through you. 🙂
