morning // Since I went to bed late (for me) the night before, I decided to skip my morning workout in favor of sleep (best decision). I woke up around 6:15 and it. was. freezing. Guys, this is COLD for Florida! I bundled up, Dutch wore his penguin sweatshirt, and we went for a walk. Then, I took a shower, got ready for the day, and commuted to work while listening to a Stuff You Should Know podcast on patents (pretty interesting!). Once at work, I chit-chatted with coworkers, drank my breakfast shake, and spent the morning writing monthly content for one of my clients.
afternoon // Around noon, it was time to stop working and start eating! Every year, we hold a Thanksgiving potluck and people bring in the most delicious food. I tried to be as “good” as I could be. I only had one plate of food, and “only” ended up eating a small slice of cheesecake and two of my cookies for dessert. (The muffin pictured was not consumed, which I consider a huge win for me!) The potluck was tons of fun! Afterward, it was a bit of a struggle to get back into work mode. Eventually, though, I wrote a few more pages of content and edited pages I received from two different coworkers.
night // After work, I hustled home to take Dutch out and then got ready for book club. We went to Ciccio’s, our go-to restaurant of choice, where I ordered a grilled chicken and brown rice dish. Yay for making good choices! We had a good turnout, around eight members including me, so we discussed the book and had lots of girl talk. I got some more recs for my Savannah trip, which was great! After dinner, we went next door to Menchie’s for frozen yogurt but, and a huge win again, I decided not to partake. I knew I wasn’t hungry (realllllly trying to listen to my hunger cues, something I haven’t been doing) and I knew I wouldn’t feel good after eating the froyo. (I never do.) So yay! A few other girls decided not to have any, too, so I didn’t feel like the odd one out, ha! We sat at Menchie’s for probably an hour, chit-chatting about this and that. We left around 9:30. I came home, talked with my mom about both our days, took a bubble bath, and then snuggled in bed with Dutch and read for a little while. I didn’t end up turning the lights off until 11, eek!
What’s your go-to recipe for potlucks? I’m all desserts, all the way, and usually some kind of cookie.

How was the book? I love Ciccio’s. I ended up staying up late reading too, but it’s hard when you’re enjoying a book to turn it off!
I rotate on potluck. I used to bring mac and cheese, and then it was buffalo chicken dip. This last one I was out of town until the night before so I just signed up to bring plates.

I usually get asked to make my roasted Brussels sprouts. I’m trying to come up with what I’m bringing to Thanksgiving brunch with Pete’s family, dessert with my family, and then a coupe veggie dishes for my immediate family’s Thanksgiving dinner/my birthday dinner next Saturday.
It’s so cold here too! 16 degrees yesterday morning! Not ready for this yet!!
Kara
I usually make a spinach dip if there’s a potluck. It’s my go-to appie and one of my favourite things to eat, but SO not good for you so I take full advantage!
Vanessa
Dutch is SO CUTE!
I usually make something in the slow cooker for potlucks (chili, soup, etc.) or sweet potato salad with raisin & yogurt dressing. Nom.
Nora
Love that Dutch has a sweatshirt. Also, curious about the book; worth reading?
Way to go you on listening to the hunger cues!!!
Hope it’s warmer for you today. We are going to be close to 50 this weekend (with rain) but I don’t care about the rain because, 50!!!

OH man, that is a late night for a week night! Actually most weekends I don’t even stay up until lame unless we have plans with other couples! I am so bad at staying up past 10:30. Sounds like a fun day, though! Nice work on not having the fro yo – I know how easy it is to cave when others are eating something!
My go to for potlucks is usually a salsa or dip of some sort. I usually can’t eat most of what is brought to a potluck so I try to bring something that I can sort of fill up on!

That’s so cute Dutch has a penguin sweater! I want a pug so bad so I can make him wear cute sweaters, too!
