When I posted my original Where Do You Keep That? post (fully copied from a segment on the Girl Next Door podcast), it was great to see other bloggers join in the fun! (Although I have to admit that Michelle’s dollhouse version stole my heart!) Engie and Elisabeth kept things going with even more categories to talk about, so I’m going to work my way through that list this month. Since I’m trying to keep these posts short and sweet, I’m just going to pick a few categories each time to discuss.
Keys
I have a great set-up right next to my front door. I use this key hook to keep everything organized and right where I need them! From L-R there is: (1) a reusable bag to grab on my way out the door (2) lint roller because cats (3) a spare umbrella (4) keys (5) purse.
Jewelry
All of my jewelry is kept in this box. Smaller necklaces are hung from the hooks at the top and then all of my earrings are neatly organized in each little container. The top shelf is removable and I use the bottom shelf to store holiday-specific jewelry, longer necklaces, and jewelry extras (like extra backings, necklace extenders, etc). I keep this jewelry box on my dresser.
Extra Bathroom Supplies
I keep any bathroom backstock (like extra body wash, shampoo/conditioner, etc) in my supply closet. I used to never have backups like this until a year or so ago when I finally turned this closet into a little backstock wonderland. Now when I run out of an item, I just hit up my supply closet for the backup!
I keep some bathroom cleaners under the bathroom sink (tub cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner) and some are under the sink in my kitchen (all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner).
Period Supplies
Oh, this is my new favorite! I had a vision of separating my tampons into containers based on their size, so that’s what I did! I bought these clear containers at Target and now have an easy way to access the type of tampon I need when I’m on my period. (From top to bottom, there’s super, regular, and light. Oh, and the purple packages in my “light” container are some of those flex menstrual discs that a friend gave me to try. I’ve been too intimidated!) I keep these containers in my bathroom closet.
Blankets
I keep two blankets folded and thrown over a cushion on my couch for easy access. Another blanket is on my reading chair. (And fun fact: All of these blankets were gifted to me from Kim! She keeps me stocked with super cozy cat-themed blankets.)
I also keep a backup quilt in my walk-in closet.
Vacuum
I still have my old robot vacuum plugged in and it sits next to my table in my reading corner. (I’m thinking of selling it but I don’t know yet.) The vacuum I actually use sits in my bedroom between my bookshelf and my reading chair for now. Eventually, I’d like to move it into my supply closet where I keep other cleaning products, but I need to make room for that.
How many blankets do you own?

I love your key hook and am a big fan of having a place for that kind of stuff. I had one right by my front door and it pretty much looked like yours — keys, umbrella, maybe a pair of sunglasses. My keys ALWAYS went there and I never lost them or had to go and look for them. Not once! Re blankets, as you know, I did not keep much, but one thing I did keep was the quilts that my grandmothers and aunts made for me. So I have four blankets, all handmade!

I like your key hook, too! I would benefit from something like that. Right now our keys go on a certain area of the counter, although I am prone to leaving them somewhere else, like a jacket pocket or my purse. I do have a tile on my keys, though, so I can locate them if I can’t find them, thank goodness.
The boys – especially Taco – have a number of blankets in their rooms. Taco sleeps with 3 blankets in addition to his comforter! He likes things EXTRA cozy. Paul has a bunch of blankets in his room that we received as baby gifts. Some of them are muslin blankets that we should probably donate, but he sometimes uses them for his stuffed animals (which is just the cutest thing to see – he’ll make a little bed next to him for his stuffies). We have one blanket we use in our bedroom if we need extra warmth during the cold season. And then on the main level, we have 2 blankets in our living room, 1 of which is a blanket I received from my grandparents when I was 4 years old!! It’s still my absolute favorite blanket as it’s very cozy and has a panda on it!

Ooh! We have a little shelf near our door for keys, but it doesn’t have hooks. It seems like the hooks would be really helpful.
To answer your question- ha, I have so many blankets. I have holiday themed ones, non-holiday themed ones (these are all throw blankets btw) and then I have a “cooling blanket” for my side of the bed. Then of course my husband has his own blanket. Oh, and my daughter is like me- she has multiple blankets in her room. Blankets, cozy socks, and pajamas- you can never have enough of these items!

I love how organized you are; the jewelry box/holder is genius! I’m always getting my long necklaces tangled. I used to use a little craft bin to organize my period stuff, but NOW, now, I have that area open for my back supply of bathroom cleaning products. The joys of aging!
I have way too many throw blankets; I’d be embarrassed to actually count them and share that number. I prob need an intervention.

Love that jewelry box! Where is it from?
Alexandra
Wow, you are way more organised than I am, though it’s true, it’s a different matter in the kitchen, my domain, where everything has it’s place. But you’d freak out if you saw my underwear draw and socks. Ha! Ha!
As for blankets? Oh dear, I own way too many. I have at least 2 extra in the bedroom, and at least 3 in the lounge. So I guess am prepared if not, organised.
Sarah
I love how cheerful and organized everything is!

Love how organized you are. It’s so fun to peek into other people storage spaces and closets.
Dont ask me about the number of blankets because I can’t even tell you. The couch alone hosts three. One on my reading chair and about 3 or more in storage hidden away so the husband can’t find them…
Kim
I love seeing where you keep things!!!
OMG. I am honored and horrified that I am your blanket supplier. Muah ha ha. Makes me want to get you another (but I am sure 3 is enough?! LMK!!!!) 😉 I have SO MANY. You would not even believe. At least 20, maybe 30? And they are ALL OVER. My house is a DISASTER! Did you notice all the blankets when you were here – did you open the guest closet? There are SEVERAL in there.
Elisabeth
I also love the jewelry box.
It’s okay, we all knew we “lost” when Michelle posted her dollhouse roundup. That is – without a doubt – one of my all-time favourite blogs posts by anyone EVER. I want to shrink down and live in that house!!
I have never heard of menstrual discs…I’m intrigued. At this point I only use a DivaCup which is amazing since I used to have such heavy periods before my ablation. It has been life changing!!!!!

I love these posts. I am sure I’ll use this format during NaBloPoMo 🙂
I told you before that I love the little entry way shelf that you have and I actually bought it but never hung it up (I didn’t have a good space for it at our old apartment, but I might find a spot for it at our new home :)).
I also love your jewelry box… that is a really nice size to keep things organized.
We currently own three blankets. Two live on the couch during the colder months.

I LOVE how organized you are! Everything in its place, and the places are beautiful! Your key hook is adorable and now I’m feeling sad about my key Command Hook clear plastic caddy. I’m blushing over your compliments about my dollhouse edition. There’s just something about miniature things! I have several blankets. 2 summer weight blankets, 2 winter weight blankets, a lap blanket, and a weighted blanket. I can’t ever throw away older blankets, so I have several in my storage closet for just in case.

That key hook is darling! I have hooks by the front door, and I loved the look of hanging my work lanyard over a hook, but unfortunately I kept then forgetting it and couldn’t get into the school, so I had to start keeping it in my work bag. Sigh. I remember watching my sister and BIL lint-roll each other’s butts every morning before work – a many cat-having house.
There is something so reassuring and luxurious about having back-ups of something you use a lot. Also good lord I need to get my under-sink space organized so I can FIND the back-ups.
I love your cat blankets, and your place looks so bright and warm and cozy.
