A few weeks ago, Diane had a fascinating section of her weekly recap post, where she recorded everywhere she went throughout the week. I loved the idea and added it to my mental list of blog post ideas (I also keep a more permanent list on my Notes app; I’m not a monster.) Last week, I took the time to write down where I went and how long it took me to get places, as well as approximate times. I didn’t mean to record a very interesting week in my life (there are definitely days where I don’t ever leave my apartment, but that wasn’t the case this week!), but this could be a fun exercise to repeat on a yearly basis to see how the rhythms of my life change from year to year. Enjoy!

*If you’re paying attention, you’ll see that we were barely at the cat show for an hour. It was kinda lackluster, although I left with some goodies for the girls and presents for friends.

Oh, I love this format! I might try this (and how interesting to compare school year to summer as I am a tween Uber, haha)! I feel that “times I got anxious about parking” category; I think I freak out every time I park, sigh.
Stephany
I have gotten better about the parking anxiety, but it still hits me from time to time. I just hate not knowing what the parking situation will be like and if it will be hard to find parking!

This is a super interesting post idea! I always like reading about the minutiae of others’ lives! I do not drive very much in a given week unless you count the times I am in the car when Phil is driving (we joke that he’s basically my uber driver). So my time in the car would be a fraction of yours. I loathe driving, though, so this is a good thing!
Sorry to hear the cat show was a bit of a bust, though! 🙁
Stephany
I also loathe driving and wish I had someone to drive me around, haha. Or that I lived in a walkable city, but alas, I must drive no matter where I’m going!

This is such a fun idea. I may have to steal it. My week wouldn’t be so interesting though and definitely no car rides only bike and public transport.
Stephany
I think that would be very interesting to read about all of the biking + public transport you do in a week!

I’m exhausted with all the leaving of the house you do. LOL. I go to work and come back and leave the house for walks with the dog a few times a day. Mine would be much more boring than yours!
Stephany
It *is* exhausting! It helps that I’m at home the whole day without anyone else to talk to (besides my cats) so I often need to get out and talk to a human face-to-face at least once a day. But this was also an abnormal week in my life – there are definitely weeks where I don’t go anywhere for many days in a row!
Daria
I love these kinds of posts! Now I want to calculate my own… 25 min to go to work, about 40 minutes from work and to home, with one kid pick up in between. That’s 65 minutes per day. No wonder I love podcasts 😉
Stephany
That’s why I love podcasts, too! It makes driving much less annoying when I can hang out with my parasocial friends. 😉
Jenny
The interesting thing is how this probably varies by region. For Florida, this isn’t so bad. But I’m sure a lot of people would think this was a ton of driving. You definitely picked a week where you visited a lot of places! Mine wouldn’t be so varied.
Stephany
Yes, this is just the way it goes in Florida, isn’t it? Sometimes I dream about living in a more walkable part of my city but that’s where rent is insanely high. I’m talking $3,000 for a small one-bedroom apartment! Blegh.
Kim
Whoa Saturday! I am proud of you for only feeling anxious about parking 3x. And that sucks about CATstravaganza 🙁
Stephany
Saturday was a busy, busy day! I was so bummed by the CATstravaganza, womp womp.
Diane
Love this peek!
I hate parking too. That’s a large part of the reason why I don’t like driving our new van- the thought of parking it give me palpitations.
Isn’t it so funny how some days are so full and some days we can just hunker at home?
And the amount of time we spend in the car. I have a long annoying commute coming up for my summer job and I am dreading it. I need to find ways to amke it more interesting and less tedious.
Stephany
Audiobooks and fun podcasts keep driving from being too much of a drag, so hopefully you can incorporate some of those into your commute!
San
So interesting! Looking at your week makes me think “I don’t leave my house that much” LOL
Stephany
This was an abnormal week in my life – there are definitely days when I don’t leave my house at all some weeks!
Anne
My version of this would read something like, “Woke up, went across the hall to walk on the treadmill, walked back across the hall, walked to the bathroom…” LOL You are SO SOCIAL, Stephany. I love love love how you prioritize your relationships. Also? I am envious that your mom lives 10 minutes-ish from you, and that you get to see her so often. I know you treasure that. <3
