We’re in the home stretch with Week in the Life! I love doing this series, and I hope they are somewhat interesting to read? Probably not, ha! Saturday was a busy day for me, so it’s no wonder that I went to bed at 10pm. I’m a crazy party animal, I know!
Here’s what Saturday looked like for me!
6:45am // Alarm goes off. Saturday alarms are of the devil, amirite??
7:10am // I finally force myself out of bed, take Dutch out, feed him, and then get ready for the day.
8:10am // I drive to my nearby Starbucks for my weekly writing date with my friend M.
8:25am // At Starbucks, I order a muffin and peppermint mocha, and scope out a seat for us. I read some blogs while eating and waiting for M to arrive.
8:40am // After chatting with M for a little bit, I get to work on my task for today: finishing up my plot outline for my novel. It’s a pretty successful writing date, and I think I can start writing during our next date. Woohoo!
10:15am // I drive over to my service center to get an oil change and inspection for my car.
10:50am // After talking to my car representative, I hand over the keys and wait for my mom to arrive to pick me up. We’ve got a full afternoon planned!
11:00am // We start our day with lunch at BJ’s. We both order spaghetti and meatballs and share a snickerdoodle pizookie for dessert.
12:00pm // I have a $10 off coupon at Off Broadway Shoes that’s burning a hole in my pocket, and I desperately need some new flats. My nude ones have been worn to their limit and my black ones are smelly! Once at the store, I find out they are having a “buy one, get the other 50% off” sale, so I’m stoked. I end up with two pairs of flats for $60, which is a steal for this store. (I’m usually a “I won’t pay more than $20 for shoes” type of girl, which means I tend to buy the cheap flats from Target that never last very long.)
12:45pm // Mom and I stop at my house to take Dutch on a walk and then I decide to call up One Lucky Dog, the place Dutch goes for his baths, to see if they had any openings this weekend. They say they can take him right away, so we drop him off.
1:30pm // Mom and I head to our favorite salon for pedicures. We have a tradition of getting a pedicure before we leave on a cruise, and my feet need some attention, so it’s an utterly enjoyable experience.
2:15pm // After pedicures, we go to Target to pick up some cruise essentials and get sidetracked by a lot of things: books, kids toys, games, makeup, the Christmas aisle. I somehow manage to spend way more than I expected, but that’s usually how it goes at Target.
3:30pm // Dutch is finished with his bath and then I get a call that my car is ready, so we pick him up and then my mom drops me off at my service center. I’m very happy that my car passed its inspection and doesn’t need any immediate repairs. There are a few concerning items, but nothing that needs to be taken care of right now. Woohoo! My car is close to hitting 100,000 miles, so I’m always worried my mechanic will tell me it needs a crazy-expensive repair.
4:30pm // Finally home! I chit-chat with Mom for a little bit and then she leaves.
5:00pm // I start working on this post and then do a little bit of freelance work.
6:00pm // I take a break to visit the grocery store for a quick visit. When I get home, Dutch greets me like I’ve been gone for decades. I take him out, feed him, and then eat dinner while watching a few episodes of Parks and Rec.
7:45pm // I take a bubble bath and then take Dutch out for another walk before getting back to my freelance work.
9:10pm // I’m getting tired, so I decide that I’ll finish up my freelance work tomorrow morning. Thankfully, I have a free Sunday morning for once and I’m going to try to use it wisely! I tidy up, do my nightly routine, and then get into bed with Dutch and read for a bit.
10:00pm // Lights out!
Name something good that happened to you yesterday!
