In May 2011, I took my first cruise. It was a graduation present from my mom and we had the best time. We had so much fun that we have proceeded to take a cruise almost every year since then. (Of course, once the pandemic happened, cruising was put on hold. Sob!) It is my favorite way to travel and something I want to continue doing for as long as I can.
Taking a cruise is a beautiful experience for me. It allows me to completely step away from reality. I’m cut off from technology. I get to travel to incredible places and have amazing experiences. It’s the perfect mixture of relaxation and busyness. I’m not so relaxed that I don’t feel as if I did nothing on my vacation, but I’m not so busy that I feel tired when I return.
Here are some of the excursions I’ve done with my cruises:
- Swimming with sting rays and snorkeling in Grand Cayman
- Touring the Mayan Ruins in Cozumel
- Biking through Key West
- Playing with dolphins in Grand Cayman
- Bob-sledding and zip-lining in Ochos Rios, Jamaica
- Zip-lining in Cozumel
- Parasailing in Grand Cayman
- Participating in The Amazing Cozumel Race in Cozumel
- Taking a pub crawl in Key West
- Speed boating and snorkeling in St. Thomas
- Zip lining and hiking in Puerto Rico
- Snorkeling in Cozumel
- Horseback riding in Belize
- Zip-lining in Honduras
