Five for Friday (v. 115)

1) PetGPT

I couldn’t help myself: I turned the pets in my life into humans, using ChatGPT. The results were phenomenal!

Eloise looks like she’s the brain behind a very scary mafia ring and she would have no problem slitting your throat if she needed to. Honestly, same for cat Eloise.

Lila looks like she’s in a commercial for depression medication. I’d like to think she’s happier than she appears!

I don’t know why it never occurred to me that Chip would be a ginger. But human Chip can get it.

It tickles me to no end that Lucy is wearing a shirt that has a lizard on it. She wants to be outside at all times and loves chasing squirrels and lizards around the backyard!

2) The great taper

I’m currently in the process of tapering off Lexapro. What?, you might be thinking. Little Miss Panics Whenever She Doesn’t Hear From Her Mom Within 5 Minutes?! YOU?! Simmer down. After discussing some of my recent anxiety episodes and struggles with my psychiatrist, she recommended that we try switching my meds. I am currently on a high dose of Lexapro (30 mg), which is not typically recommended by doctors. In some cases, it’s necessary and in my case, it definitely was. But my psychiatrist recommended trying Prozac instead, especially since it can be helpful for people with OCD, and we’re pretty sure I have that when it comes to my obsessive thought patterns. I am very nervous about this change because I’ve been on Lexapro for such a long time and the last time I stopped using it, my anxiety was through the roof. But I’m also ready to explore a new medication to see if it helps with my obsessive thoughts. Prozac also helps with social anxiety symptoms, so I’m looking forward to seeing if I notice any sort of difference in the way I feel in social situations. Currently, I’m finishing up this week of the 20mg dose. Next week, I will do a 10mg dose. And then… it’s Prozac time. Wish me luck!

3) The “finished” product

I never showed you guys the before-and-after of my tub refinishing project! This is the best part about being a renter: All I had to do was call my front office and tell them that my tub was peeling. They handled everything else! I was delighted with the finished product and for some reason, I didn’t realize that refinishing my tub also meant redoing the tile around the tub, so it looks brand new and so gorgeous!

4) Eloise turns 7!

Yesterday was Eloise’s birthday! She’s now 7 years old. I think I’ve talked about this perfect little angel enough on this blog, but here are seven things you should know about her:

  • She is a Velcro kitty. She wants to be near me at all times. She will sit right in front of my keyboard while I’m working or make me scoot over in my chair so she can sit next to me. She either sleeps between my legs or on top of my belly at night.
  • She tolerates her younger sister. There are times when I can tell that Eloise loves Lila, like how they’ll bump noses with each other if Lila has been hiding for a while. And she lets Lila groom her. But I wouldn’t say they have a sweet sister relationship. It’s more of necessary evil.
  • She has a very specific toy she goes crazy for. It’s this weird little toy in the shape of a piece of candy and she often bats it under the door of a closet, and whenever I rescue it, she will go nuts. I’ll hear her meowing like crazy in the bedroom as she bats it all around the room. There is no other toy she loves as much as this candy.
  • She’s not food-motivated. Sometimes when I shake the treat container and say, “Yum-yum time, Ellie!”, she’ll just stare at me from wherever she is curled up and not move a muscle. Or she’ll come to the table, take one look at the treats, and leave. CAN NOT RELATE.
  • She talks to me. Yes, she does! I’ll ask her a question and she’ll meow back at me. And then I’ll ask her another question and she’ll meow back. We have a lot of great conversations this way!
  • She’s my protector. She is always waiting for me when I get out of the shower or standing next to the tub when I’m taking a bath. She’s not sure what I’m doing in there, but she wants to make sure I’m safe. <3
  • She’s friendly with guests. While she still takes time to warm up to people (for example, she hid from Birchie, sigh), once she feels like enough time has passed, she’ll come out from her hiding spot and give my guests head butts and meows. Last night, Bri came over and Eloise was on her cutest behavior with her, giving her meows and tumbling all over her legs. She also stayed out in the living room the whole time! (Lila, on the other hand, hid under the couch the whole time and emerged mere minutes after Bri left.)

5) Weekend plans

I have a very fun weekend ahead of me! Today will be a low-key night in. I’m planning on making nachos and maybe finishing the YA romance I’m reading. Tomorrow is book club! Our activity is cheesy JCPenney photos. !!! We’re all wearing white t-shirts and jeans, and I am so excited to see how everything turns out, ha. We’ll also do brunch afterwards. And Sunday, I have a writing date with Mikaela in the morning and then a first date in the afternoon! Our plan is brunch and a bookstore date, which is the way to my heart. Fingers crossed it goes well. 🙂

Which AI human is your favorite? What are your weekend plans?

All the humans look like they fit the characters. So fun.

And that refurbished tub … definitely a pro being a renter and not having to do this stuff.

My weekend plans are brunch for a birthdays friend on Saturday and grocery shopping on the way home. hopefully after that it is just chilling on the sun on the balcony. Sundays I will do nothing but read. I probably should get on top of my private mails and paperwork and the craft room/home office is in dire need of a clean up.

All the best for the first date. Hope you enjoy it and have a fun time.

That sounds like a lovely weekend! I hope you’re able to have a super relaxing Sunday. I really enjoy the times when I can do NOTHING on Sundays!

I love Ellie’s human form the best. And yes ChatGPT is processing Doggo’s image right now so we’ll see how it comes out.

Good luck with the med swap! It’s always nerve wracking to make changes like that. I got my tub refinished in my single gal house and it was a really good investment. Not very expensive and it looked great.

I like everything about your weekend plans! Stepson #2 is working on his Eagle project for Boy Scouts (a very big deal, intense thing), so my weekend plans are to find reasons to be out of the house while his team gets it done.

Ellie’s is my favorite, too! Such a badass. And wearing a black-and-white suit, of course!

I hope you were able to spend a lot of time out of the house this weekend! Sounds like a good plan.

I love Eloise’s petGPT best! But all of them are great! Lila does look like she’s in an advertisement for an antidepressant. lol.

I hope the med change goes well. That is always so nerve wracking!

I can’t wait to see the JCPenney photos!!!

Same! Eloise’s looks so badass. She WILL slit your throat and not have any guilt about doing so. HA.

The JCPenney photos turned out insanely good! We had a blast!

My plans are some spring cleaning and getting the yard ready to mow.

I think Lila looks like she’s trying to decide between a chocolate milkshake or maybe strawberry. She doesn’t know that pineapple milkshakes are a thing, but if she did, she’d be getting that for sure.

Prozac has been the best for the OCD person in my life. I think it was maybe the 3rd drug that we tried. It really helped with intrusive thoughts.

I hope your date goes well and that you have a great time!

HAHA – I love your insight into Human Lila’s faraway look. The cats have this cardboard scratcher that’s set up to look like a “cat diner” and one of the things it advertises on the side of the scratcher is fish milkshakes! Maybe she just really wants a fish milkshake and knows she can’t get one. Poor girl.

OMG I am going to be on the EDGE OF MY SEAT waiting for your JC Penney photos. I cannot WAIT.
Good luck with the Prozac! I hope it works for you. I heard on your podcast about the change in your health coverage and how it affects your therapy, and that worried me, honestly. Your big sister Nicole is over here fretting a bit! I hope the medication is a good change – it sounds like it might be. Keep us posted.
We have houseguests right now and tonight we are hosting a BBQ for like 30 people, for my birthday! So that will be fun and busy!

The JC Penney photos turned out AMAZING! I’ll share them on the blog next week.

The therapy situation was really unfortunate. I’m all good now, but I didn’t love the way my therapist handled it so I think I’m taking a break until it’s time to look for someone new.

Good luck with the switch from Lexapro to Prozac! I hope it helps! And goes as smoothly as it can.

How is Eloise SEVEN?! My mind is blown. I loved reading her 7 facts. She is such a little sweetie!

I got behind on your blog- darn it! Remember how we talked about that- it’s hard to comment now. Hope your date went well! (but then I could read the next post in a minute and hear all the actual details.) Well, I hope it all went well, good luck with the Lexapro situation, and you know how much I LOVE human Eloise. Yes, that is perfect! It’s funny that she’s such a snuggler, because you know what I always say- in every photo she looks like she’s plotting to kill me.

Eloise’s photo is so perfect because she DOES have that resting bitch face DOWN PAT. And her human equivalent also looks like she’s plotting to kill you. HA.
