I did pretty well with my May goals, but there was one goal I didn’t accomplish, and I think we all know which one that is.
May Goals
1) Figure out what to do about the gym. Complete. I have decided to cancel my gym membership for now. It’s just not worth it when I can’t do most of the classes, and I have a free apartment gym to go to.
2) Reorganize my junk drawer. Complete! I very much enjoyed this project.
3) Buy an Oura ring. Complete! This is my third week with my Oura ring, and I am a fan. Right now, it’s in the calibration stages to figure out my baselines, so it’ll be really cool to see trends/changes once that stage is done.
4) Time track for one week. Complete. I wrote two posts about my time tracking journey. It’s truly eye-opening to see how much time I devote to my hobbies!
5) Figure out my 401K situation. LOL WHAT DO YOU THINK
June Goals
1) Schedule an appointment with a cardiologist. I’m having some weird shortness of breath and chest tightness when I do simple tasks. This could be steroid-related and/or simply due to some deconditioning after not working out at the intensity I’m used to for 8 months. My doctor and I agreed that I should get things checked out just in case. (So far, my goal of “fewer doctor’s appointments in 2026” is not going well.)
2) Create my organization spreadsheet. I am so excited about this! I’m going to create a spreadsheet that labels what is in every bin in my apartment. The organization spreadsheet will be organized (lol) by room and shelving unit.
3) Move my body every day. I got very lazy in May when it comes to daily movement, so I need a jump start. I’m going to challenge myself to move my body every single day in June. It can be a 10-minute walk or a simple stretching routine, but I need to get some form of movement in, no matter what!
4) Go to my apartment pool twice. A fun goal! We get Summer Fridays at my job, which means I get to stop working at 3 pm every Friday. This would be the ideal time to go to the pool! It probably won’t be crowded, and it’ll be a great way to kick off my weekend. I’m hoping to go twice in June.
5) Figure out my 401k situation. I am determined to mark this goal complete in June. DETERMINED. (The situation: I need to roll over my old 401k account to a new account. My organization was bought by another company at the end of last year, which is why I have a new 401k account.)
Do you have any monthly goals? Do you think I will actually get this 401k situation figured out in June?

Do you have an accountability partner for your daily movement for June? I bet that would help!! I hope you can get an appt with a cardiologist to look into the symptoms you are experiencing + the results of the scan that I think showed an enlarged heart. I really really hope you can get off steroids asap because as much as they are a miracle drug for pain, they have a lot of really crappy side effects!
I don’t have monthly goals – I just want to keep plucking away at my 25 in ’26 list. I crossed another thing off the list last night as Paul and I went on a mom/son bike ride. It was pretty short (only 2 miles) as he is still getting the hang of riding his bike. I learned that we need to stay off the dedicated bike trails because there are some rude speed demons on those trails which freaked Paul out. So we will stick to quiet neighborhood streets for now where we don’t have to worry about Paul being passed on a fast-biking lunatic. Man, people are RUDE!
I don’t have an accountability buddy, but that would be helpful! I am… not doing well with this goal and it’s only June 6th! Oops.
I have an appointment with the cardiologist on June 19th! Hopefully it’s all steroid-related, but better be safe than sorry.
Damn – sorry that you and Paul had to deal with rude speedsters on your bike ride. That must have been scary for Paul!
I have faith in you! I also have a rollover goal this month. We can do it.
The chest tightness definitely sounds like it could be steroid related. Good to get it checked out though! Also, moving your body every day will probably feel really good. Except that it’s hard to go out and walk when it’s 1000 degrees, but we can do it (I’m also trying to walk more during the day).
You are insanely organized. My house would probably trigger an anxiety attack for you. I’m looking around at utter chaos right now, SIGH.
I think I’m going to get this 401k goal completed! I finally completed step 2 and now I think all that’s left is sending a form + the check my old 401k company is sending me in the mail to my new company. Fingers crossed!
I don’t think your house would trigger an anxiety attack. I’d just love to come over and get my organizing paws on it! Ha!
You did great with your May goals! I’m so sorry you have to see a cardiologist now. Ugh. Every medication seems to have some kind of bad side effect. I don’t know which of my meds is causing dry mouth, but holy cotton balls, my mouth is SO dry lately.
Ugh, dry mouth is the worst! I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I’m really hoping my heart issues are steroid related because otherwise… I am just way too young to be seeing a cardiologist, ack!
Yes pool! I really truly love the Apple Fitness app– the 10-minute yoga and stretching workouts are **chef’s kiss**. Love that organized junk drawer– I need to do this as well– mine is SHAMEFUL and the cabinet below it has become a junk cabinet because stiff falls out of the junk drawer into the cabinet– it is rough and I should just junk everything. So smart to see the cardiologist– I bet you will come away with peace of mind.
Peace of mind is definitely what I’m hoping for when it comes to the cardiologist! It’s crazy that I was doing HIIT classes multiple times a week last year and now walking up the stairs makes my heart race. I’m really hoping it’s the steroids!
Does it make you feel better to know I still don’t have a will? I mean…this is a goal I’ve been saying I’ll do FOR YEARS. *sigh*
It does! I’m glad I’m not the only one who pushes off these goals forever and ever. It’s important! Yet so many steps and… blergh.
