One Photo a Day | February 14 – 20 (With FIGs!)

February 14, 2026 – Happy Valentine’s Day to meeee! I used to really hate Valentine’s Day as a perpetually single girl, but these days, I try to see it as a fun way to celebrate friendship and my relationship with myself.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful that I have had a burst of inspiration for a novel! It’s been really fun to brainstorm about my idea and start imagining a whole new world and characters.

February 15, 2026 – A day where not much happened, so thankfully, I have a very adorable cat who doesn’t mind posing for photos. She’s so happy to have her hammock back by the window!

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for a day to myself! I slept in, got some errands and chores done, and allowed myself some laziness, too. A perfect day!

February 16, 2026 – I bought this new lamp at Target, and I can’t even begin to describe how much I love it. It’s adorable, for one, and I love the way it casts my living room with the coziest light in the evening.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for simple joys like this lamp and that I was able to put together my new office chair pretty easily.

February 17, 2026 – Lila meow-deling the new office chair! I love it so much. It glides much more smoothly and is super comfortable.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for good books. Today, I finished an excellent romance and couldn’t stop thinking about the characters all day! A sign of a great story.

February 18, 2026 – It’s been a hot minute since I took a selfie, so here you go! A busy meeting day means I did my hair and makeup, and put on real clothes.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for Kim! She sent me the sweetest gift in the mail, and it really touched me. I’m so glad she’s part of my life!

February 19, 2026 – The girls were being nosy neighbors this morning! I tried to get Eloise to look at me, but she refused.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for feeling good! I went on a walk in the afternoon, and for the first time in a very long time, I felt this strong desire to turn my walk into a run. I did not do that because I know my joints are not ready for more strenuous exercise (even a light jog!), but what a difference a few weeks on steroids makes. From “It would be nice to be able to stand up without pain,” to “Should I turn this walk into a run?”

February 20, 2026 – Did you know that Eloise is solar-powered? Every morning, she lies in this specific spot on my desk to ensure she garners enough energy to make it through the day.

Today’s FIG: I’m grateful for my new coffee table! It was super easy to put together, and it makes me stupidly happy.

What’s something you’re grateful for today?

Great pictures and FIGS! I love seeing cats in windows. You don’t get that so much with dogs.

      It’s definitely a cat-specific activity!

I love everything about this post! I’m so glad that you’re feeling better! I gasped at your new office chair – it’s so pretty! And how nice to have a lamp that gives off good lighting. Solar-powered kitties are the best!

Your new hair colour looks great!!! Your hair always looks great though.
I am not a single girl but I usually mostly use Valentine’s as a vehicle for celebrating my girlfriends/ eating heart-shaped things. My husband and I have NEVER exchanged gifts or cards, but sometimes we have sex on Valentine’s. That’s basically it! We didn’t this year though since our older son was visiting and nothing’s a bigger boner killer than having your adult kids hanging out with you watching the Olympics. Not that I’m complaining, I love having him visit! But these days I prefer an empty house. Oh my god, stop me before I start telling you the entire backstory of our sex life, what we did when the kids were little, etc. Once I start typing I can’t stop aieeeeeeeeeee.
Anyway. On to other things! I would love love LOVE to hear about your novel idea (although I totally get it if you want to keep it to yourself, I like holding my ideas close until they are fleshed out)

I love a completely unhinged Nicole comment! Valentine’s Day sex FTW.

I definitely indulged in plenty of heart-shaped goodies this year. No regrets!

I am not too precious about my novel idea, but there is so much I need to figure out. It’s been fun to do some brainstorming, though, because I haven’t had the desire for fiction writing for such a long time!

I love your new office chair and your lamp! They are both so pretty! The pink is such a fun pop of color! And I am glad you had a great Vday. I used to love the holiday when I was single as I’d often spend it with my nephews. Now I am kind of grumbly about it because of all the plastic crap the boys bring home since candy is not something they can bring to school. Womp womp.

I am grateful for heat today! It was 3F this morning when I went to OTF. OMG I am so over winter. We didn’t get the massive snow storm but I almost would prefer that to this crappy cold weather. Sigh. Oh wait, I’m supposed to be positive in this comment. Whoopsies…

You never have to be positive in my comment section, I promise! I understand that this is the hard part of the year for you with the weather. I hope it starts warming up soon!

I think most cats are solar-powered; I also feel that I am, frankly. Also also, I do love your new lamp, but I love the table it’s on even more! The woodwork is exactly my favorite kind.

Lila had a great time breaking in the new chair. Eloise does not approve of the new chair because there isn’t as much space for her to sit next to me. I’m a terrible mother. What was I thinking buying a chair without measuring the seat width to make sure it would fit me + a small cat?!

Aw! I love all the cat photos. Having cats around is like having FIGS permanently built into our lives.
Did you ever read What Alice Forgot? I love how she didn’t realize she had taken up running, and goes for a walk and finds herself mysteriously bounding along the sidewalk until she’s running- that’s how I’m picturing you on the steroids. I also loved how she couldn’t figure out why she had a massive headache, because she doesn’t realize she now drinks coffee. Ah, that was a good book. Speaking of which- I finished Inhale Exhale! When you read it we’ll have to discuss.

I think I read What Alice Forgot. Now *I* forgot if I read What Alice Forgot. Geez.

Once I finish the book I’m reading, it’s time for Inhale, Exhale. YESSS!

The FIG I love the most from this post (Sorry, Eloise and Lila) is that you were feeling good enough to take a walk. A life without (or with less) pain is amazing. I’m so glad your meds are helping you get there. <3
