One Photo Per Day: May 9 – 15

May 9, 2026 – Lucy is an all-time pro snuggler. She has no respect for personal space, but who needs that when you can have her sweet little body all tucked up next to you?!

May 10, 2026 – Mother’s Day! We had a lovely day. We did brunch and then painted pottery. It was a joy to spoil my mom!

May 11, 2026 – Lila seems to be having an existential crisis here, but I think she’s just worried she’s not getting any more treats until tomorrow.

May 12, 2026 – Whenever Eloise loafs like this, I exclaim, “Where did your legs go?! Are they gone?! Don’t worry – I will carry you wherever you need to go, even the litter box!” I think it’s hilarious, but I don’t think Eloise does.

May 13, 2026 – Book signing #2 this year! Meeting Caro Claire Burke was a delight!

May 14, 2026 – I bought this gorgeous 16-cube shelf for my dining area. I felt like this area needed a little something extra, and there’s nothing I love more than shelving that I can use as part-organizational strategy and part-decor. I’m allowing myself time to fill in each cube slowly, so there will likely be empty cubes for a while!

May 15, 2026 – What a lovely night out! We went to dinner and then saw the musical Six, which was incredible. (But I think watching Bri sing and dance to every song was more delightful than the musical itself, ha!) Afterward, we got ice cream.

What was the last theatre performance you went to?

Hee hee- yes, I don’t think Eloise looks amused by your hilarious joke! And poor Lila- it’s tough when treats are done for the day.
Muffin also has no respect for personal space, and loves to plop her large body all over me- and I’m totally fine with that!!! Nothing beats a purring cat smothering you.
Your mom looks great! Glad you guys had such a nice day.

There is NOTHING like an animal who just wants to snuggle you! The purest form of love. <3

I call Eloise’s pose ‘meatloaf’, because, well, I think pets look like a meatloaf when they are like that. Mulder couldn’t quite tuck his limbs under himself but he could get them pretty tight.

We tend to go to concerts more than plays, since that is really my husband’s jam. In June, though, we are going to go see Tiny Beautiful Things. I just saw yesterday that Cheryl Strayd’s husband died. He had a rare disease I guess. Horrible.

Oh man, I hadn’t heard about Chery Strayed’s husband. That’s so sad! He was so young. Ugh.

My kids LOVE listening to SIX. I’ve been wanting to take them to see it, but I’ve waffled on whether it’s appropriate for the younger kids.
The last theatre performance I saw (that I wasn’t working on) was the middle school production of Music Man, Jr., with my 14 year old in the lead. It was such a bittersweet moment to see her since it’s her last middle school musical and she’s had such a good time doing them.

We saw a lot of young kids at the theatre, which surprised me because some of the lyrics are very suggestive. But they probably don’t understand those lyrics, ha.

How fun that your daughter got to be the lead in the middle school musical!

Aww, Lucy and my youngest are twins. Will is the cuddliest kid. He sometimes strokes my skin and says “I love you mama” or he will take a sniff of me and tell me I smell good. It kind of creeps Phil out TBH. Lol. Sometimes I do tell him that I need a little bit of space. Otherwise he is practically on top of me.

How fun to go see Six with friends! I guess some of the kids in the after school program put on their own version of Six and some of the parents were not thrilled about it because the lyrics are quite explicit or something? I’m a bit oblivious because Paul has zero interest in musical theater and sticks w/ sports and pokemon card activities at the after school program.

We saw a fair amount of young kids in the audience, which was surprising because yes, some of the lyrics are a bit suggestive about King Henry’s… member. lol. I don’t know if I’d want an elementary school doing Six, but at least they’re learning history?! Ha.

I am, as always, in awe of your ability/willingness to make your space homey. I am STILL dithering about furniture options and upgrades and will probably wait to buy anything until after I figure out what my next Big Life Step is. Why buy and move if I can sell, move, and buy? (I hope that makes sense…)

Anyway! I have Yesteryear on my holds list, but because everyone ELSE does, too, it will be approximately 1 million years before I get it. LOL

What a lovely mother’s day photo of your family.

And the shelf is really cute.
