One Photo Per Hour: Tuesday, August 12, 2025

5:39AM: It’s an early morning for me. Eloise is being very chatty, so I pick her up to try to give her some extra snuggles. She acts like I’m trying to strangle her, sigh.

6:49AM: The sunrise this morning was a good one! I snapped this photo as I was leaving the gym after spin class.

7:03AM: Look at my ladies! I was sitting on the couch after coming home, working through my NYT games, and they posed so perfectly for me.

8:43AM: My makeup routine. When I worked in an office, my makeup routine had many more steps. But now, all I do is draw on some eyebrows and put on some mascara. And I only do this on the days I have meetings. No meeting day? No makeup!

9:26AM: It’s work time! Lila loves to curl up on my laptop because what’s more cozy than the hard shell of the side of a laptop? I spend this hour working through my daily morning tasks – clearing out my emails, checking in on my contractors, and checking on our content queue to make sure there’s nothing that needs my attention.

10:49AM: Cute photo of me! I took this while in an hour-long leadership call. I didn’t meant to look so angry. I wasn’t angry! I was just listening intently while trying to take a picture.

11:51AM: It’s lunchtime. I’m listening to my Big Brother live feed update on YouTube while working on a coloring page.

12:15PM: I’m back to working and Eloise is being very chatty with me. I took this photo when she was mid-meow! I’m working on some contractor editing and preparing for a meeting.

1:00PM: A quick photo before a 1:1 meeting with my boss. This was a great conversation and we got a lot accomplished!

2:56PM: I cheated here and gave you two pictures in the 2:00 hour. Here’s what my view looks like on a regular basis. Lila takes over the left side of my desk and Eloise curls up on the top of the cart that’s positioned right in front of the window next to my desk chair. I love this view! I’m just doing boring work stuff, nothing to see here!

3:51PM: I take a break from work to fold some laundry. Eloise helps me by perching on a towel and not getting up for hours.

4:01PM: It’s back to work with a snack. I am still so very bad at eating snacks regularly throughout the afternoon. But at least today I had some apples and peanut butter!

5:45PM: I’m done with work and need to complete my chores for the day (laundry, which is done, and vacuuming my living room rug). I have to pick up all of the cat toys and scratchers and loungers from the floor and push my coffee table out of the way. Afterward, I dump out so much cat hair from my vacuum. It was honestly impressive.

No photos in the 6:00 hour, oops! My mom and I were at my friend Amber’s house to go through our London itinerary, so I totally forgot about taking a picture!

7:58PM: Those Florida summer skies – love them! My mom and I finished up with Amber after about an hour-ish of discussing our itinerary and moving some things around and it was time for dinner! My mom drove, so it was very nice to be the passenger princess.

8:47PM: I almost forgot to take a photo in the 8:00 hour, oops! I snapped the photo of the restaurant we ate at just as we were leaving. I had a delicious burger with tater tots. It really hit the spot!

9:48PM: Eloise has continued to confiscate my towel so I can’t put it away. I’m puttering around my apartment at this time, going through my nighttime routine and working on this post.

10:45PM: It’s finally time to settle down in bed. I have my trusty CPAP mask and the current book I’m reading (which I am loving, by the way!) I don’t read too much tonight because I am very tired!

What time did you get up yesterday? What was your last snack?

Hahahaha…. cats just love to plop down somewhere and never move. I’ve dropped articles of clothing on the floor and couldn’t pick them up for days, because every time I try one of the cats is lying on it.
Nice job getting to the gym for that EARLY spin class! And-I’ve heard lots of good things about that book. I think it was a MMD summer reading guide pick this year?

I’m not sure about the MMD summer reading guide since I don’t subscribe to her, but I know The Road to Tender Hearts was talked about a lot on Sarah’s Book Shelves Live! It’s been the perfect escapist read, that’s for sure.

Lila LOVES sleeping on the sweat towel I use in my HIIT classes. Sometimes I’ll just throw it on the table when I get home and later find her curled up on it. I guess she loves my gross sweaty gym smell!

I just finished that book! Enjoyed it a lot … I’m not usually a big fan of super “quirky” plots/styles but the darkly comedic tone and shifting pov were so masterfully done that it really drew me in and won me over! I will remember Pancakes, the cat who casually learned to read, for a while! 😉

PANCAAAAAKES. I love this cat so much.

I’m usually not one for quirky books, either, but this one is just so well-written and has been a great escape!

Oh I love these posts! And it’s so funny, I just put that book on hold – Lisa told me about it yesterday. It’s on order so it will probably be several months but that’s okay because I have three here and three ready to pick up from the library, so I really have plenty to read.
I woke up at 4 yesterday, and I just had lunch so no recent snacks for me.

Your kitties are so good about letting you take their pictures! Zelda just glares at me and tries to climb on my lap when I try to take her photo. I don’t really mind that she wants to cuddle, though.

I woke up at 5:30 yesterday and today. I hate it, but it has to be that way. And I had some raspberry fig newtons as a snack recently.

See, I would love for my cats to climb into my lap! They almost never do that. 🙁 Eloise will sit between my legs if I’m on the couch or sit on my legs/belly when I’m lying in my bed. Lila will SOMETIMES let me cuddle her close when I’m lying in bed, but not always. I need a cuddly cat!!

      Ooh, fig newtons! Yummmm!

I think I got up at 6 something yesterday.

Last snack…hmmm. I didn’t really have snacks today, but I had take-out sushi for supper and it was delicious. And I think I might go make myself a mid-evening snack of cottage cheese, drippy peanut butter and fruit. YUM!

Okay, none of that sounds appetizing for me but I’m glad it was delicious for you!

I love picture an hour posts! Also I needed the reminder to put a hold on Road to Tender Hearts so thanks for that.

WFH with cats compared to WFH with dogs. A cat can get on your desk, and a dog will keep you honest about taking breaks.

I got up at 6:30 yesterday, which was my first day back home after my trip, so it was a slow start to the morning. The last snack that I had was a bowl of popcorn.

As I’m responding to this comment, the last snack *I* had was a bowl of popcorn! Twinning!

Yes, cats are great WFH companions, even when they try to show their butthole on camera. 😉

I got up at 6:45 yesterday while I was in NYC which felt like 5:45. That hour time difference can really hurt! But I had a slower morning than the day before when I had to take a metro north line to Rye, NY for my first meeting of the day. Yesterday I was in Manhattan for the whole day.

My last snack was a beef jerky chomps that I had in the late afternoon. I love snacking!!

How exciting to firm up your London plans!!

Oof, 5:45am. That hurts! Especially when it’s going to be a busy day with lots of meetings and people-ing!

Our London itinerary is coming together! It’s going to be an amazing time. 🙂

    So much cat love.
I get up too early these days. Around the time you did here.
Sigh… the last nights were not good APAP nights. that thing is annoying me and waking me up. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I’m sorry your APAP is annoying! It definitely took me a long time to get used to wearing it at night. Although I usually only wear it for 4-5 hours since I don’t have to use it all night long, lol. I probably should use it for the whole night, but sometimes I just want to sleep on my belly!

But wait – the most important question! What vacuum is that? Do you like it? I thought you had robot vacuums – no? Details, please, if you see this! 🙂

I did have a robot vacuum, but I didn’t love it. It wasn’t very efficient, usually vacuuming in the same place over and over again, and missing very crucial spots in my home! So I bought a cordless vaccuum that I really like. It’s this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DJ2KY2D?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
