Time I woke up: 5:15 a.m.
First thing I did upon waking: I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and then scurried out the door for an early morning workout at the gym.
First app I opened this morning: I believe it was my CPAP app to find out how many apneas I had overnight (2.1!)
Today’s weather: The high was 87, and it was sunny and hot and humid. Blergh.
Today’s mood: It started well, but things at work made the day devolve very quickly.
Something I spent money on today: Not a damn thing! No spend Tuesday!
An out-of-the-ordinary thing that happened today: I forgot to make coffee! I was wondering why I felt so tired and off this morning, and then I realized it was because I completely forgot to make my usual morning cup of coffee. I don’t know how this happened!
Something weird I said to my cats today: “Oh, is it time for the post-work treat because you worked so hard today?” The girls seem to think that when I shut down for the day in my office, it means they get a handful of treats for getting through another long day of “work.”
One minor annoyance from my day: Just a work-related thing that happened early in the day and completely upended my entire schedule
Last thing I read (not on the Internet): In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams
Last thing I read (on the Internet): A political newsletter (What a Day from Crooked Media)
Last text I sent: “I just need to know that Princess Donut is okay.” <– referencing the cat in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series
Last text I received: “She is THRIVING.” Phew!
Last website I visited: Gmail
Last show I watched: New Girl
Last podcast I listened to: Behind the Bastards
Last thing I said: “Are you my sweet baby girl?” Lila answered with a squeaky, “Ah!”
Last thing I ate: Green beans during dinner. No dessert tonight because I wanted ice cream, but I’m having pretty severe tooth sensitivity whenever I eat cold things right now, so ice cream is a no-go. (Dentist appointment on Friday!)
What I was doing an hour ago: I was chatting on FaceTime with my mom
What I will be doing an hour from now: Hopefully, I’ll be winding down with some ASMR videos in bed.
What I need to do before bed: I need to finish my evening skincare routine, update my planner, make tomorrow’s daily schedule, scoop the litter boxes, and finish cleaning the kitchen. Too many things!
Current whereabouts of other members of my household: The girls have the zoomies right now, so they’re running around the apartment and then hiding from each other, waiting to pounce at the perfect time. I love their evening silliness!
What was the last show you watched?

Your eyebrows look fabulous in that photo, Stephany. Tell me all your secrets.
I love that your kitties require treats after a long day of work. It’s HARD to be a working cat!
The last show I watched was an episode of Rooster. It’s such a charming show! And there was a bit in this episode where a police officer referred to himself as a “cop hawk” and then Steve Carrell’s character mocked him by asking if he was saying “car park” in a Boston accent — the whole thing cracked me up.
Oh wow, I don’t think I’ve ever been complimented on my eyebrows! It’s a lot of eyebrow pencil and getting as close to the mirror as possible to draw them on. If I don’t draw them on, it looks like I don’t have eyebrows at all.
I just said “cop hawk” aloud and cracked myself up. I need to watch Rooster, perhaps!
Hope things have settled down with work. It’s always a frustrating feeling to have something upend your day out of nowhere. The last thing I watched was the Sopranos. I’d never seen it before, but have always heard great things, so it’s been fun to check it out.
Things settled down as the week went on, so that’s a relief! It was a wild way to start my day.
I’ve never seen The Sopranos! I don’t do well with dramas, lol.
It’s encouraging to hear that you went to the gym at the start of the day. Your Psa symptoms must be improving! Yay!!!
I would never and could never forget to make coffee. It is such an obsession for me. Now that I’m on synthroid for hashimotos, I can’t eat/drink anything besides water until 30 minutes after I take that med. I watch the clock and wait for it to be time for me to have coffee.
The last show I watched was the final episode of The Sopranos. Phil and I have been watching it for at least 4-5 months. I did not like how it ended but most fans didn’t really like the ending either. It was fun to have a show to watch together.
They are improving! But I’m still only approved to do the bike at the gym (or walks). Sigh. It’s something at least!
I’m SHOCKED that I forgot to make coffee. It’s such an ingrained habit!
Stephany, that is an absolutely beautiful picture of you!!! Can you come with me to my son’s wedding and make my face look like that???
Ha, cats and treats. Our cats have gleaned onto the fact that if they get outside, I’ll lure them back in with treats. Often they’ll try very hard to get out the door, only to come back in five seconds later, looking expectantly at the treat container.
I know that tooth sensitivity! One of the most painful moments of my life was when I bit into an ice cream sandwich with a sensitive tooth… omg. It rivals the time I stepped on a cashew in bare feet, right on my plantar fasciitis heel. I’ll be haunted by those moments forever.
Haha – I don’t know if you want to trust me with your wedding makeup! But thank you for the compliment!
Cats are so smart! Little devils.
I’ve never had tooth sensitivity like this before. My dentist was not very helpful, either. Nothing crazy popped up during the cleaning, so I just have to keep doing what I’m doing and hopefully soon it will help!
UGH! Sorry work derailed your day! Two thumbs down to that 🙁
That is so cute the girls want a treat after their hard day of work. Awww. (HARD DAY AT WORK DESTROYING THE COUCH MISS LILA!)
I hope you remembered the coffee today!
She continues to use the side of the couch WITHOUT the anti-scratch film, so I really need to get some put up on that area, too. And I’m sure she’ll find another area to scratch after that!
Coffee has NOT been forgotten since Tuesday!
We read the first Dungeon Crawler Carl book in book club and one of my friends kept reading the series. I don’t know how many she read, but the only thing I asked about was Donut. She was still going strong!
YES! Just tell me how my dear girl Princess Donut is doing. That’s all I want to know!
Kitty zoomies are awesome! I agree with everyone – that’s a great photo of you! I’m envious of how well you’re doing with CPAP. I have to admit that when I had my cold at the beginning of April, I couldn’t use it, and when my cold was gone, I didn’t go back – and I’ve been sleeping so much better. I probably still have a ton of apneas at night, but I don’t know it, and I can’t bring myself to care! I had developed such an aversion to it that I was only getting 4 hours of sleep at night, and now I’m getting 7 or 8, and I look forward to bedtime again! If I stop breathing and die in my sleep, so be it.
I’m really sorry that your CPAP therapy has been such a terrible time! I don’t blame you for not wanting to use it, especially since it’s not even helping you sleep better! Have you heard about that implant you can get for sleep apnea? I forget the name, but I see commercials for it often. I don’t know how well it works, but might be better than the mask at least!
These are always so fun.
I love a peek into other lives.
