Snapshot of My Day: Tuesday, June 24

Time I woke up: 5:15 a.m.

First thing I did upon waking: I brushed my teeth, got dressed for the gym, filled up my water bottle, and then was almost late to leave for the gym because I spent too much time taking selfies in the mirror. Oops!

Today’s weather: Hot and humid. The high was 92 and as I’m typing up this post around 8 p.m, the humidity is hovering around 70%. It start thundering and got cloudy at 5 p.m., but a storm never materialized.

Something I spent money on today: Groceries! I went to Publix after my spin class since I hadn’t had time to go grocery shopping this past weekend.

An out-of-the-ordinary thing that happened today: I got bloodwork done! This time, I’m testing for Celiac disease and food allergies. It was quick and easy! I went early (right after spin class, but before Publix) and was out of there within 10 minutes. I’m also relieved that getting bloodwork has gotten easier now that my veins are easier to find. (It used to be a process because of my hidden veins, but then a phlebotomist told me dehydration can make it hard to find veins, so I try to be extra hydrated on the days I get bloodwork done!)

Last thing I read (not on the Internet): The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren

Last thing I read (on the Internet): Heather Cox Richardson’s Substack newsletter

Last text I sent: “Booked.” I sent this to my mom after booking Wednesday’s HIIT class.

Last text I received: “Me too.” My mom’s response!

Last website I visited: Gmail to read some infuriating newsletters regarding politics. It’s fun! I rant alone in my apartment! I wonder why I have so many newsletters that tell me terrible things!

Last show I watched: The Amazing Race (I’m watching season 4!)

Last podcast I listened to: Currently Reading

Last thing I said: “Lila, are you secretly a genius?” I found this page she had opened on Feedly with all sorts of coding language, and I have no idea how she opened it or got to this page. The only conclusion I can come to is that she’s a tech genius!

Last thing I ate: Reese’s peanut butter cups!

Cat hair everywhere!

What I was doing an hour ago: I was reading and commenting on blog posts.

What I will be doing an hour from now: Most likely, I’ll be tucked away in bed, reading my book!

Current whereabouts of other members of my household: Lila is sitting next to me on the table and Eloise is perched on some of my “fresh from the dryer” laundry. I should be upset that my clean laundry immediately has cat hair on it, but she’s so cute that I can’t get mad at her!

One thing I crossed off my to-do list today: Laundry! I’m very happy I was able to get my laundry done, even if I am folding it at 9:30 at night.

What time did you wake up today?

This is just a fun post!!!!! I love all the prompts
I got to work from home today so I got to sleep in & got up at 6:15am – GLORIOUS! Much better than the 5:00am wake up call

Those 5AM wakeup calls are for the birds! Thankfully, my work is flexible enough that if I need to take a quick siesta on those days I wake up early for a workout class, I can.

This is a fun prompt and sounds like a packed day. I got up at 5:15 and wasted lots of time staring at my phone and drinking coffee in bed. *sigh*

“Wasted lots of time staring at my phone” could be the title of my memoir. Solidarity!

Sounds like you had a good day! I love the selfie, especially with the kitty photobomb! I woke up at 2:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep. Ugh. Now I’m dragging. There’s not much cuter in life than a kitty curled up in a round basket. Perfection!

A 2:30AM wakeup should be illegal! I hope your sleep gets better soon. <3

You know I love this post! I’m impressed that you got up at 5:15 to go to the gym. Today is my day off, so instead of getting up at the crack of dawn to run in the sweltering heat, I slept in till 7:20 (!!!) and went to the gym to run on the treadmill. It’s funny- I also got blood drawn today, and I’m in the middle of the Currently Reading podcast.
I still think Eloise looks like she’s plotting to kill me. Oh, and it’s lucky I don’t live in your area- I keep getting emails from Cats and Caffeine telling me they have cats up for adoption. I need another one!!!!!!

We are living parallel lives! I love it. <3

Eloise has the best "plotting to kill you" look, doesn't she? I promise she's a sweetheart!

Lila is 100P a secret genius! So is Ellie!

I am glad bloodwork went well.

Look at you getting that workout in. Woo hoo!

    I got up at 4:00.

4:00 is SO EARLY. Is this due to your new schedule/commute?

I love these snapshots! Very fun post. To answer your question, I woke up at 3:55 but got up at 4. That’s my typical schedule (and I’ll be passed out by 8:45 tonight at the latest).

Oh, I want to talk about my wake-up time, but it’s too boring for a blog post. I shall bore you with my comment instead. The dog is sick AGAIN, so I had an alarm set for 2 in the morning and my regular 5:30 wake up. I woke up at 5, though, because I was so worried the dog would be sick. And now I’m exhausted. But I’m bound and determined to catch up on blogs before I go to bed, so I’m already past my bedtime and I still haven’t brushed my teeth or showered. WHY IS BEING AN ADULT SO HARD?

Ugh, that sounds terrible, Engie! I’m sorry you had such a broken night of sleep with poor Hannah’s issues. I would be so dead tired after all of that!

Okay, I love all the cat photos and your pre-gym selfie is adorable even if it almost made you late.

Yay for quick and easy bloodwork!

Let’s see. Today I woke up for good at 6:30.

So thankful my bloodwork isn’t such an issue like it used to be. Hooray for hydrated veins!

A very fun and lovely post!!
I woke up at 6AM today…A difference from 3PM, 12PM, 10 am, then 7am yesterday. I am sloooowly regaining my footing with jet lag. Whew. It’s been hard. But I think I’m almost there! Chelyabinsk is GMT+5, 9 hour difference with NJ. So, oooffffff.

A 9-hour time difference has to be so difficult! That’s almost being on the opposite schedule that you’re used to! <3

Tuesday was my last day of work before my vacation with Will. I got up at 6:15 which is on the later side for in-office days but I’ve gotten lazy this summer!

Way to get up early for a class at the gym!!

It’s so hard to get out of bed for those early alarms but always feels so good when I do!

I love this format. I think I finally need to steal it and write a post.

I hate blood work but I did get that it’s easier when drinking lots early on. The last time though they wanted to draw blood and I wasn’t allowed to drink 6 hours before. Argh…

Cat hair everywhere would drive me nuts.
