7:10 a.m.: Wake up before my alarm and laze around in bed. I snuggle the cats and scroll through Instagram.
7:35 a.m.: Time to get up! I feed the cats and then make breakfast (eggs and toast with iced coffee). I read blogs while I eat breakfast and then start working on yesterday’s blog post.
8:15 a.m.: I do my full morning routine today. Yay!
Cleanser, toner, niacinamide, vitamin c serum, and moisturizer
9:00 a.m.: Working block. I do my morning tasks and then have an hour-long leadership meeting that runs over.
11:15 a.m.: Lunchtime. I heat up hamburger stew and eat it while watching an episode of Friends. Then, I clean up my lunch dishes, clean up the girls’ food area, and give them fresh food.
12:00 p.m.: Working block. I deal with emails, have a short meeting with some of the other managers to play around with the poll function on Teams, and then start auditing a website.
What my face looks like when I don’t fill in my eyebrows, sigh
1:40 p.m.: FaceTime with Mom because I had to tell her about my crazy dream last night (I moved into a different apartment!)
1:50 p.m.: Back to work!
2:05 p.m.: Speed around the house because I need to leave for my chiropractor appointment ASAP. I change my clothes, pull up my hair into a high ponytail, and pack my backpack.
2:15 p.m.: Drive to my chiropractor’s office and leave a Marco Polo for Mikaela on the way.
2:35 p.m.: Everyone is running behind at the chiro, so at least getting there 5 minutes late didn’t mess anything up. Whew! I have a quick adjustment session and talk to my chiro about Thanksgiving plans.
3:00 p.m.: Drive to a nearby Starbucks and park myself at a table with a peppermint mocha. Mm! Work time! I mostly work through some content editing tasks and keep an eye on my email.
4:45 p.m.: Leave Starbucks and drive to physical therapy, which is only a few minutes away.
5:00 p.m.: Physical therapy! This is my last scheduled session, so I have to decide if I want to keep doing PT or do the exercises on my own. I have been seeing improvements and the PT sessions are free, so the answer is probably to schedule more sessions. But still, I’m on the fence!
5:50 p.m.: Done with PT! I drive to Publix and pick up a few things. On my way home, I realize I’m driving behind my mom’s car! I text her a very creepy, “I’m right behind you.” Muahaha! (She’s driving to dinner with Robert, and I might have invited myself along if I didn’t have ice cream in the car!)
6:20 p.m.: I’m home! I give the girls some treats and then take a very relaxing bubble bath.
6:50 p.m.: I get into my pajamas and then sit down at my laptop to do some blogging work. I take a short break at some point to empty my dishwasher and throw a frozen pizza in the oven.
8:00 p.m.: It’s time for Survivor! I watch it on my iPad at the table while eating pizza and finalizing my blog post that will publish tomorrow. I also do some coloring!
10:00 p.m.: Still watching TV! After Survivor, it was time for The Amazing Race. However, I move myself over to my couch and put the show on my TV. I use the heating pad and then the massage stick on my aching hips/IT band.
11:00 p.m.: I call my mom once our shows are over and we chit-chat for a while.
11:35 p.m.: I clean the kitchen and do an abbreviated nighttime routine.
11:50 p.m.: I’m exhausted, so it’s right to bed for me! No time for reading.

wednesday in the life: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2020, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014

Ah, what a nice day! I love the 7 am wakeup. I know you’re supposed to wake up at the same time every day, but who wants to wake up at 5 am if you don’t HAVE to??? And your sleep score was 100, so there.
I also love how you can take breaks during the day as needed, and then work from Starbucks while sipping a festive beverage! You knew I’d be all over that one.
Tough call on the PT- even though it’s free, I know it’s a pain to get there. Do you think you’ll continue to do the exercises on your own? You seem pretty disciplined about taking care of yourself (I know- pain is a strong motivator) so maybe you could just do the exercises at home.
One thing- iced coffee in the morning, blerg!!! I always need a hot beverage with my breakfast, no matter what the weather is like.
I think I would continue the exercises on my own, but I wish I was feeling better than I am. I have a follow-up ortho appointment in mid-December so I should probably just keep at PT until then.
Since PT is free, I would keep going, especially since it’s helping. Going to PT will mean you will at least do the exercises during those appts which might be more than you’d do them if not for going to PT!
A 100 sleep score! WOW! That is amazing! Mine is finally up in the upper 80s on my Oura ring which is very very good for me. My sleep scores were so so low and I had a significant sleep deficit since I was sleeping so little. So I am kind of feeling like a new woman this week!
I’m really curious how the Apple sleep scores compare to the Oura ring sleep scores. I should research that! 100 sounds crazy when it wasn’t a full 8 hours, you know?!
That’s a good call about PT. I will probably continue them, at least until my ortho follow-up in mid-December.
This sounds like a lovely day
Is it weird that I got a pang of jealousy when I read about your content editing session? LOL. Sometimes I really miss editing. It’s so satisfying! What is your favorite aspect of your job?
I am also curious about your sleep score. My CPAP machine has an app (of course) and THAT gives me a sleep score, but I have been using my Apple watch while I sleep and it tracks various sleep stages but I haven’t noticed a score. Way to go on getting 100!
I do enjoy the content editing part of my job! I think my favorite aspect, though, is resource planning. I keep track of all the content we have to write every month and assign it out, and I find the organization of that to be so fun!
I had to upgrade to iOS 26 to get the sleep score!
Woohoo for the 100% sleep score. You gotta take the wins where you can get them!
A 100 on the sleep score? 7.50 minutes? I am envious,
Tell me what “leave a Marco Polo for Mikaela” means because I am lost.
I would also do PT if it is free. I guess it takes time out of the day but you are doing something for your health.
Marco Polo is an app where you can leave video messages for friends! And they respond with their own video messages. 🙂 It’s a different way of communicating that I really love!
